We booked our stay for 10 days planning on looking at some land in the area. We didn’t think we’d be spending much time at the ranch, but we wound up finding land in Tennessee so suddenly had ten free days. The ranch is amazing and we were close to so many different places, Blue Ridge, Georgia was a blast with live music and various places with libations asking with shopping. (Mostly touristy , but since boutique stuff too) Nature trails abound in the area, several with waterfalls, and we got to see an amazing singer/songwriter concert in the round at the nearby Peacock Playhouse, which has year round plays, concerts, and other events. We met several people staying here via Harvest Host and wound up joining because of their experiences they shared. Bought some of their grass fed, no steroids or antibiotics beef, can’t wait to try it after we get back home Sunday.

Our new RV Club held it's first rally at Walnut Hollow RV Ranch. I'm not sure I would have ever chosen to camp here if the group hadn't gone. The idea of camping in the middle of a cattle ranch, and the photos of RV's next to barns and in the middle of fields just didn't look appealing. BOY was I wrong. This place is wonderful. Yes, the campsites aren't exactly traditional, most of them are on gravel and scattered around the ranch headquarters, working shops and buildings. But everything is clean and neat, the views are amazing, the hiking around the ranch and back in the woods surrounding the ranch is great. But mostly the staff is just wonderfully helpful and friendly.
The Hayesville area has lots of fun things to do, scenic drives, hikes, shops, etc.
I forgot to do a speed test but we had good ATT signal here and their WiFi is amazing. Several in our group were able to stream the Braves Game (when they won the World Series)

Found this through Harvest Hosts and while a free site was available, we ended up paying for one with water and electric.
Pros: Brian and Sean were very friendly and accommodating. Our site was the most, if not one of the most, private sites. We do not recall the number, but as you enter and pass the office (which will be on the right) there is one site immediately on your left, then ours was the next one on the left though the gate. Tried a couple of their steaks, which while very pricey, were excellent and we felt part of the experience. Sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. Great seasoned firewood available.
Con: Dump station is not conveniently located, there is no rinse water and there were work vehicles parked near it, so we opted not to use it and stopped at one we use frequently on the way back home.

Charlie the owner was away while we were there but he checked on us several times. Carrol took good care of us though. We bought one of the steaks in the store as well. It’s a little pricey but well worth it. Best steak I’ve had in years, and one was just enough for my wife and me.
We stayed one night in lot 3 with power & water. The lot is very level with wild flowers in the back, providing a little privacy from the barn. Showers were an extra fee but they provided the towels. Only negative is the one bathroom and shower is shared with several others, but we only had to wait a couple of times. Not bad.
If you’re tired of the cramped sites at typical private campgrounds, and just want a peaceful place under the stars, Walnut Hollow Ranch is a must. We look forward to returning!

The owner, Charlie, is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Hubby and I enjoyed this small quiet campground.
Close to Hayesville for grocery shopping, fast food, and home town eateries.
Our only negative is the location of the dump station.

I first called for reservations at Walnut Hollow as a member of Harvest Hosts and planned only an overnight. But, I noticed o the site that he offered paid spaces as well so we made reservations for 4 nights (with one free as Harvest Host members) Charlie, the owner, had asked that we call ahead and it's a good idea to do so when you still have a cell signal because there isn't one once you are close or there. You can however text, which is what we did when we arrived and he came down the hill immediately. Walnut Hollow is a woking cattle ranch set on beautiful green hills just off US 64 in Hayesville. There are 6 sites, 3 of them on a gravel knoll with views of a pond and the hills and fields surrounding you. It is quiet, except for the occasional braying of one of the donkeys or the mooing cows who Charlie says are "spoiled" and call out to be taken to greener pastures. Sure enough, when their demands were met they were quiet. There is water and electric (50A) at the site a dump station next to the barn. (He also has a one bedroom apartment in the barn that is for rent.) Laundry is available for $5 per load (washer and dryer) and there is a shower there which we were unsure had a charge. The entire place is immaculately clean, Charlie is a joy-friendly, helpful and interesting, and he has a farm store with beef for sale. Each morning the various birds will brighten your morning with their chirping and flitting about in the trees.
There are a number of hikes nearby (including waterfalls) and Lake Chatuge which stretches from NC into GA has numerous activities. Ingles supermarket is a few minutes down the road and there is gas in town. However, if you are headed to or from GA do any fill up you need there are the gas is 10-20 cents cheaper. We had an intermittent 2 bars of ATT boosted and none of Verizon while there.
