Pulled in about 8:30 pm and found an out of the way spot in front of the Garden Center. Didn’t call ahead, but apparently it’s not an issue with management, as no one bothered us. Easy access to the parking lot. A bit noisy but safe area to stay the night. There’s a Home Depot across the street and a few food joints in walking distance. Close to Scott’s Bluff National Monument.

We also drove over to Lake Minatare State Recreation Area and kinda wished we had camped there instead. It was a reasonable price for partial hookups (water, power) with a nice, large dump station for sewer. The lake was beautiful and the campground was basically empty. It's a bit of a drive outside the town but if you're looking at staying at the Walmart, check out the lake first if you want quieter and more scenic.
