Planned to go to Starbase but the road was closed the whole morning and into the night due to testing. We needed a quick place to stay for the night and this worked out just fine. Planned to go to Starbase but the road was closed the whole morning and into the night due to testing. We needed a quick place to stay for the night and this worked out just fine. We parked near the fence, another camper parked by the fence. It was quiet other than an occasional train off in the distance. At the time of this post, Walmart closes at 11pm.
On a side note: if you are going to Starbase check the internet for road closure dates and times, (turns out it was closed from 10a to 10p) we didn't do that hence the overnight stay. We got up the next morning and headed out about 5am just to be on the safe side, saw the sun rise and got some great photos.

Overall Rating
There were more birds in this parking lot than any place I’ve seen in my life and they chirped ALL NIGHT LONG. It was also very hard to find a spot where the lights weren’t directly shining in your windows but it was over all a typical Walmart parking lot stay.

When we arrived, we parked near a motorhome. As we walked towards the entrance of the Walmart we stopped security to ask if we could stay the night. He said we could, however, we just needed to move. When we arrived, we parked near a motorhome. As we walked towards the entrance of the Walmart we stopped security to ask if we could stay the night. He said we could, however, we just needed to move.
If you're facing the Walmart, security directed us to the far right next to the wood fence. Coordinates: 25.923418, -97.476538. The spot was tucked away from the traffic and next to a big grassy area which was nice for our dog.
Our only complaint was the noise. There was a high pitched electrical sound that never let up. We had to close our windows and turn on a fan to drown it out.
The free Walmart wifi was just ok from our spot. DOWNLOAD: 1.24 Mbps, UPLOAD: 3.09 Mbps.
