Overall Rating

There are 3 campgrounds around Viva Naughton Lake. This campground has 4 RV sites along the eastern shore. 3 of the sites are south of the small day-use only area. 1 is a touch north of it. Each of the sites is about 75 yards apart.

Yes, it can be windy. We tucked in next to the bank willows and that did wonders for cutting down on the wind. Plus, we got to hear the waves lapping against the shore.

The sites are big enough to accommodate equipment of any size. Other than wildlife and the wind, it's utterly silent out there.

We had no cell coverage at the site, but a nice signal from the high point about 1/4 mile to the northeast on the UTV trail.

Overall Rating

This is a nice size reservoir with lots of room for boondocking. It has boat ramp, picnic tables & fire rings at some sites. They have nice vault toilets too. There is a Day use only area and access to the lake is not a problem. There is some brush along the water edge in areas and few trees but would not do for shade really.

It is unprotected from the wind, so that would be a consideration for your plans. This is Wyoming and wind is what they are known for.

We did not stay up there but scouted it out for future since we have a big combination.

There are signs that state camping in designated sites.
