Two nights, mid-week. Nearly empty. Sites were spacious and there are many large grassy areas where other parks would try to add more sites. Clean showers & friendly staff. No cell service.

Only an overnight stay. Sites were fairly level but very close together for a state park. Luckily, no one camped on either side of us. E&W were fine. It was convenient to go into town for dinner and later for gas. We camped at Village Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Small park with campsites very close, you can almost reach over to your neighbor and get a tea refill. Internet is spotty if you can get it, not much bandwidth. Cheap and easy to get into, probably for these reasons.

I really wanted to stay here more than 1 night but could not get more than 2 bars of reception with Verizon at my site. I attempted to stream video and it was very hit or miss and there was a lot of buffering and timing out. I have a Verizon tablet, iPhone and hotspot and couldn't get consistent Verizon service. I had to leave because I needed better data for work. Although, the park is well kept and and cute, it's very small and limited in activities. The rangers are very nice and the creek is gorgeous but I didn't get a chance to kayak.

Price reflects senior discount. Site was level with water and electric. This is a very small, clean State Park with a couple of trails. You can drive/walk to the river. Watch for snakes. We stayed here to go to the South TX State Fair. There is Big Thicket Visitor Center (NPS) up the road. We had Verizon cell and hot spot service here.

Very pleasant wooded sites that are layed out well. There are a couple of okay trails, but the park seems to be best for kayakers. The Verizon was barely usable with 2 bars with our booster. Mostly older retirees here in January, so no camper noise. The road noise and train whistles are pretty constant, but not too bad at night. Great price for electric & water sites. Saw more park patrols than any other campground I have been, so feels secure.

Cute little state park if you like lakes and fishing. Not a whole lot else to do but very quiet and sites were nice. NO cell service almost anywhere and definitely not at the campsite.

Nice bathrooms and trails to walk out of campground and close to so kayaking. Only bad part is I have I stayed at al lot of campgrounds and on the weekend we were there I have never heard so many barking dogs ever!!!! By Monday the campground only had 6 campers with no dogs and was great. I would stay there again but not on the weekends for to the dogs and hopefully we just hit it on a bad time for dogs. Other than that it is a lovely campground!!

We had plenty of room with a tent pad fire pit and picnic table. Be aware there is railway near by and train passes so you will here horns in the distance.

Since I live close to this park, I thought I would eventually camp here. So glad I did. Although some of the trails are still closed due to various storm, like Harvey, Laura and Delta, there are plenty of hiking opportunities as well as fishing and canoeing galore. The site I picked was next to the dump station, it sits above the dump station, so no smells, at least during the cooler months. The site is fairly level, you just have to find the right spot within the site. The shower and restrooms are close and they are spotless. The Nature Center was an expected surprise. A very knowledgeable staff person gave a great walk thru of all the different live species they have there. There's a huge open air pavilion and some swings, grills and picnic tables. The cypress trees are amazing. Each campsite has a fire pit with a grill that can be flipped over to cook on it. There is a picnic table as well. Site 25 felt very private. I'd love to come back and try out some of the other. sites.
