Nice city park quiet and beautiful! Power water and a dump station. Was a little tricky finding out where to pay. We called the numbers on the board and not much luck. Said there was an online website but couldn't find it so we parked overnight and paid in the t. Great stay. Cows and coyotes and deer dogs loved it.

It goes up to $25 on the weekends and holidays. Also, there is a $4 fee for paying with credit card that they did not tell me about until I went to add an additional night. If you are like me and refuse to pay credit card fees on principle, you can pay cash in person at the Rec Center on Royston beside the large water tower.
Also, if you park around the perimeter, beware of the drop-offs at the end of some of the concrete pads. I fell off the one in Site #16 after dark even though I knew it was there, and darned near sprained my ankle, (Park is dark!)

This is a very quiet, well maintained park in the back of a city park. Sits on the banks of the Colorado River. Huge trees, most sites are shaded except #2, 15,16,17,18 and 19. Good ATT reception, received about 24 tv channels. Smithville is a cool little town. The movie Hope Floats was filmed here. A couple of good restaurants. Amy’s ... more

Stayed over Memorial Day weekend, wasn’t full. Already booked another weekend.
