A fine place to stay for a night if you want some time to enjoy Eclipse Nordic Spa (which is awesome and totally worth a visit). The campground is a little rustic and isn’t maintained super well. The rv spots at this Cracker Barrel are short. We had to park in Walmart which is next door and wait until an opening in the outer edge. Worked out great though. Walked to a Japanese steakhouse for a good dinner. Had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Definitely felt safe at this location. Nice staff
The Flying J is in the other side of the interstate exit and it has a working, convenient RV-specific dump station right next to the fuel pumps. Very clean store and restrooms as well. And the cheapest fuel in the area when we stopped.
Stopped one night on way from Arcadia to Lake Placid. Specifically needed a shower & laundry amenities. There were only 2 overnight campers the rest were full timers. Campground was basically empty. Women’s bathroom was rising & atrocious— one toilet was overflowed, another clogged & uncleared, the shower was freezing cold (NO HOT WATER). Men’s...
Amazingly clean and peaceful campground about ten minutes from downtown Mount Airy and all things Andy Griffith! Our site (#4) had a beautiful view overlooking the campground and one of the stocked fishing ponds. Some sites could experience a bit of road noise but ours was peacefully quiet.
