This park has been greatly improved. One big fix was they no longer let the homeless use the showers and bathroom. There still is a sign at the ranger's office that states to lock up your e-bike as they can leave without you. We didn't see anyone...

I don’t know why someone said you need horses, you don’t. Having “horse” in the name is not a requirement to have a horse anymore than needing to be a “thief” to stay there.
We purposefully came here just before Memorial Day and had both sides of us empty. Had a great time kayaking in Deep Lake and Park Lake. Did a little hiking too. The Interpretive Center gives a lot of info on the area. The rangers are great....
