Campground Maintained by the White Mountain Apache Tribe Game & Fish. One Camping Per Vehicle Permit covers up to a maximum of 8 people or 1 vehicle. Permits can be purchased online or by calling (928) 338-4385

Camping is restricted to established camping sites only in DESIGNATED CAMPING AREA. It is illegal to encroach beyond designated campsites.

We went to this upper log campsite in June and there was hardly any people. The dirt roads are well-maintained so we were able to take our travel trailer in. Further down 6 miles of dirt Road was the turn off to Hawley Lake. All of the sites are really close to a stream, and there is tons of shade at all of them. Along the road they keep porta potties spaced out so you don’t have to walk so far to get to one and they are really really clean. They have a dumpster at the entrance so you can throw your trash. We paid nine dollars a day to camp there and this is a place that we will definitely be revisiting.
