Lovely little spot. Host was friendly and helpful. Kept the place very clean, even the bathrooms (pit toilets). Beautiful lake views (through some trees) from half of the sites. The other sites are nice, just not on the lake side of the driveway. Stayed in site 13 - lake views, spacious, across from the water pump and one of the bathrooms. Sites 8 and 12 have steps down to the lake. Otherwise there is the boat launch to access the lake. Small lake that would be nice to paddle on. Sites 5-11 are reservable (minimum of 4 days in advance). A few short trails from/near camp. Limited to no cell service. Got 1-2 bars LTE with ATT, with a WeBoost. Host had a Starlink, but not all sites have enough open coverage for it.

We took a chance on this little Chequamegon National Forest campground and WOW what a pleasant surprise. The drive in was lovely and we arrived before the fall color had disappeared. Camping midweek means we have the entire campground almost to ourselves. Half of the sites are reservable.
We chose site 8 because the description said it was a “pull-through” double site. It’s ENORMOUS, but the pull-through is a little odd (we had to use leveling blocks). There is a nice set of stairs down to the water which provides a lovely spot for coffee in the morning and whiskey at sunset.
Just behind our site (number 8) there is a really short trail/boardwalk to a lovely little pond. A real hiking trail stars nearby.
No hookups. Vault toilets. Very dark at night!
