Small campground on a nice lake. We loved our waterfront site, and there's quite a few of them here. The usual top quality sites we expect from the COE. Quiet place even when at capacity.
Close to Meridian or Collinsville for groceries, etc.

We camped in site 14 at Twiltley Branch Campground! This Corps of Engineers campground is great! Campgrounds with lakefront sites in a wooded setting are our favorite campgrounds and Twiltley Branch did not disappoint! The only slight negative is location of some trees can make getting back in to your site a bit tricky. I would not suggest arriving after dark (like we did). This campground gets very dark and those trees can be hard to see. Other than that, it is a great campground with a tremendous amount of access to the shore of Lake Okatibbee. The campground was a bit loud over the weekend, but nothing egregious, just families enjoying the outdoors! This one one of the nicest COE camp grounds we’ve ever been to. Fire pit was cleaned and they had just sprayed for weeds and grass in the gravel areas.

We didn't see a host. Campground was about 60% full but very quiet and no issues with quiet hours. Be aware that this is a haven for bass fishing, so you will definitely hear the boats go out early in the morning.
Overall, we had a great time here in a mid-week visit in April. We had a lot of sites to choose from and 43 was absolutely wonderful - right on the point so husband was able to fish (and catch) while I got to sit and watch the birds (including a new siting for us - a pair of Orchard Orioles), and our dog loved all the space. However, be aware that sites 43 and 44 are set up as "buddy" sites. The very helpful lady who checked us in told us that and said she'd be glad to help us pick another site if we wanted. While each of the 2 buddy sites have their own picnic table and power/water, the tables and large fire pit are in between the two driveways, so you won't have much privacy unless you can pull in a different direction. We actually went in diagonally since we're in a camper van and had plenty of room to maneuver and that put us looking directly out towards the lake.
Another word of consideration is that there appears to be a group campsite between single camp sites #38 and #39, so you might want to take that into consideration if you're going to be there on a weekend when I'm guessing that would get crowded and a bit more loud.
My only reason for not giving the 5th star is b/c, as others have mentioned, the bathhouses are quite a walk away. Not a big issue for us since we were only there 1 night and self-contained. There were vault toilets close but we didn't check them out so can't comment.

Site 28 is in a prime location unless you're not like 40' long. Full restrooms/showers and laundry (laundry closed due to covid) are quite a hike away (probably the only detraction). There are VERY clean pit toilets in each loop. Camp host(s) are the best we've ever met - so friendly and accommodating! Cannot wait to return to this campground!

The campground was very full, even on a Thursday night in March and there was not a lot of privacy between sites. I was able to walk several miles along the roads in the park, but, unfortunately there are no proper hiking trails. I would definitely stay again, but this wasn’t necessarily my favorite campground.

My only negative is the lack of desingnated walking trails. Okatibbee Lake has excellent fishing and water access making it a very popular place on the weekend. It did get crowded a bit with boats. There is a small town nearby that has most of the basic needs. Cell coverage and OTA tv were adequate. Good experence!

The site is a few miles off I-20, very quiet and well maintained. The road inside the campground is in great shape and we had decent cell service (AT&T). Loved the view of the lake from our site!

We were only intending on staying one night, but ended up staying two! Sites were fairly large gravel pads and level. Some are closer than others. I could have napped all day by the sound of the lapping water! Quiet during the week. Would definitely stay again! Bathrooms leave something to be desired- but if you’re self-contained it’s fine.
*Note: Physical gate closes at 10:00 PM. We didn’t know this and arrived about 10:20. Called the gatehouse/ camp host who let us in.
