We stayed for three nights (mid-July) and really enjoyed our stay. The road to the park is a little rough - single lane at some places, but luckily we only met one small car leaving on the last day.
Our campsite was wonderful - backed right up to the creek. Plenty of room in the site, although the way the campsite is situated, our neighbors were right off one side of the trailer (the hook-up side), and it felt too close when we were in the trailer, but not unbearable. The creek helped divert noise! Our site had 30 amp power, water and sewer. Check-in was quick and easy.
Nice playground in the park, and the bathhouse was small, but clean and adequate.
The campground is close to Gorges State Park and Sylva, so you’re not too far away from civilization and incredible mountain experiences and hikes. (We can highly recommend the Rainbow Falls trail!)
Really nice park - we will definitely stay again when we’re in the area!

Our spot was easy to back into and was next to the creek. We had help from the campground staff backing into the spot. We were driving a 39’ class A diesel motorcoach.
The downsides to this campground is no cell service, the wifi is very limited and the access road is partially gravel and very narrow (single lane). If you take it slow a big rig can get into this campground. I would not recommend towing a car up here as the roads have some very sharp turns.
The Upside. The nearby town of Cashiers is a fun place to visit with good food. We enjoyed their Fall festival and their cell service.
If you have children and want to get them to put away the smart phones, this is the place. I watched kids/teenagers out in the play ground with their smaller brothers and sisters and watched middle teens throwing a football. Not a smart phone to be seen.

Just got back from 3 night stay at this campground. Sites are not overly huge but big enough that you don’t feel too close to your neighbors. We have a 38’ TT and did not have an issue fitting it on the site. This campground is kinda off the beaten path. We did not arrive until after dark and I would advise getting there before dark especially if you have a large camper. To get to the campsite you take a dirt road up the mountain and in most cases it was at best a wide single lane road. We lucked out and didn’t meet anyone going the opposite direction. However once we made it into the campground we were really surprised. Our site backed up to the stream running through the campground which also had a small waterfall at our site (site 5). The folks running the place were always more than willing to help out if we needed anything. The bath house is a plywood shed but it was clean and did the trick if you needed it. We had full hookups with 50a service so that was a plus. No cell service and spotty internet which was fine by me, but be aware if you’re the type that’s tied to your phone and tv. The only thing I was crazy about was that the sites were grass which isn’t a big deal until it rains and the ground gets soft. It made getting out of the site a little challenging but it just added to the overall experience. We would definitely go back for a quiet weekend and to unplug from everything.

We stayed there in the third week of October. The fall colors were amazing. We enjoyed our hikes around the camp. It is a family run place. Tony, Glenda and the rest of their staff were very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be back. Harry

Trout creek is a great campground with an amazing creek running behind the sites. You are allowed to back up as close as you wish. Great trees for hammocks and good space between the sites. It's a family owned business and they were wonderful and helpful. Will definitely return.

Accommodating host but hard to locate. Phone numbers are best to find him. No web site and no cell service for ATT. There is a pavilion for large groups, fish cleaning station, volleyball and baskettball court. The new owners are in the process of making more amenities such as wi-fi. Just gotta get the word out about this little piece of paradise in the mountains. Close to waterfalls, hiking, and all the outdoors.
