Very accommodating for a last minute reservation. Very nice staff. Very quiet and a little remote, but we like quiet and remote. Would definitely stay again. AT&T was good enough for us to work remotely.

We arrived late in the day beginning of October. Right about 7pm and the sun was right in my side view mirror! Good thing my husband and I work well as a team on radios while backing up! The resort had very few people while there. Everyone was spread out well. We booked about 2 weeks before our scheduled date and lived the area we picked! The staff was very accommodating! The new owners took over in June of 22 I believe. The lady Wendy, even though injured and not at the site, was texting me back immediately! She was so helpful and understanding! Couldn't ask for a better person to own something in customer service! The showers there saved us because we couldn't get our water to heat up! The only downside to our trip was they just winterized the pool the week prior to our stay and there was like no lake!! The kids loved the old school swings. We brought our bikes and rode on the trails and dirt roads. It was nice that they had so many things to do for kids. Horse shoes, miniature golf, disc golf, & ladder toss! Or kids love being outdoors so this place was perfect! We're definitely going back so we can enjoy the pool!!! Side note, their sites aren't as tight as people say. They were decent enough!!

RPI Thousand Trails Discount Price. This was a clean fairly quiet place. Some trees in the middle of a valley. Pretty enough but sites were very tight. The place was fairly empty when we arrived. Asked specifically for a spot away from others. We like our privacy and quiet. For that reason. We try to boondock but sometimes need water dump and laundry. Instead I was told a huge group was coming in over weekend and they had to all be together, and certain spots were for residents. Anyway she put us in between a couple with two dogs, and their spot for overnighters. I got the opposite of what I asked for did not try to accommodate at all. Oh and all those people never showed!

This campground is pretty fantastic. It is a near-oasis in semi-desert enviornment. There are several lakes in the area, but when we came in late September, the Camus Reservoir was all but dried up. There are trees surrounding, and throughout the park. All the trees were planted by the owners themselves decades ago. There are full hook-ups available, including 20/30/50 amp service. The sites are all dirt but very level with grass islands in-between each site, and a concrete patio pad with picnic table as well. The sites are also very long, 60'-70' each. More than enough room for your trailer and tow vehicle or motor home and towed vehicle.
There is no park provided wifi, however, with nearby cell towers, there was strong AT&T and Verizon cell signal.
The road up to the campground is rough. There is a sign off of highway 20 that indicates the Running Bear campground is to the north (pointing left as we came in from the west). It is about 3 miles of rough gravel/dirt road. In our truck and 35' fifth wheel, we stayed at about 5 MPH. Getting back and forth on the road without the trailer wasn't too difficult (for site seeing and such)
The website says "reservations required". Although the park was near empty when we arrived, I think the owners just like to know when people are coming. You can probably call the day of arrival, I would think.
The campground owners are very friendly and fun people. There is a membership available, but we just paid the overnight rate for three nights (about $39 per night, less 10% for Good Sam or AAA member). Other than mentioning it, there was no pressure or sales pitch at all.
We would stay here again.
