So there’s two campgrounds here, there’s two spots by the boat dock, and then more down by the damn. Both sites have put toilets. The service is iffy though, with our signal booster we have 2 bars LTE so without that I’d say one bar 4g. Beautiful and on the Missouri River, lots of birds. Oh! And lots of trains and I mean over 10 a day
Willow Luna would stay here again

We saw beaver, pelicans, swallows, cormorants, Canada geese, turtles, gulls, pigeons and the occasional fishermen.
Train on the other side of the river comes by every so often, so bring earplugs. Pit toilet is odor-free.
Upper Toston Campground is nicer than lower, in my opinion.
static would stay here again

This spot is easy to access and absolutely beautiful. Not only that, but the restroom was the cleanest pit toilet I have ever had the pleasure of smelling. It’s right on the river with great views of foothills. There is just one problem with this site - there are trains running all. Night. Long. Just on the other side of the river, with nothing to buffer the sound. Whistles and all. Luckily I packed ear plugs, but even with them you can still hear and feel the trains. Ya win some, ya lose some.

Stayed at Lower Toston Dam Campground. Relatively quiet minus the train passing though periodically. Lots of bugs. Clean drop toilet. Definitely good for one night, about 6 miles off the highway.
Taylor would stay here again

Nice place to go if you want to get away from crowds other than occasional vehicles just to check out the dam during their road trip. We had the whole place to ourselves a couple weeks before memorial weekend. There are a couple of spots before the Dam and four spots packed together by the boat ramp at the end of the road. Picnic benches have covered roofs over them. Fire rings have very little room to gather around but work with small groups. One toilet vault but very clean. Lots of birds to watch. Dam has access to walk across to the other side. Boat ramp is closed until one week before Memorial Weekend. There's a railroad track on the other side so it can be a little noisy but traffic is light. Dam has some noise also with compressors filling the air bags. And Dam worker picking logs out for a few hours to keep Dam clear of jams. It would be a perfect place to take out of the river and camp after a day of floating from the headwaters. No cell service. No water. No trash.
