Really nice spots that were private thanks to the great Floridian Flora. Immaculate bathrooms. Loved the Tomoka Outpost - great spot for a sunset beer or to rent kayaks. Say "Hi!" To Captain Corn!

For those looking for a beach, its an easy drive into Ormond Beach, but I stress it is a drive. On a map it might look like you're super close to the beach... but you are very much on the river at this park. Its not a swimming river. This is a place to hike a trail, or take a kayak out on the water and look for turtles, and matinee, or even gators. The woods are alive with wildlife from possum to lizards to frogs. You can see a great deal of stars at night even being so close to the city. Lots of ranger led activities for the kids. Snow bird's paradise here. If your looking to camp on the beach keep looking... if being close to the beach is acceptable look here.

Pros:
It has a boat ramp, great camp store right on the river and is close proximity to the Daytona beach area.
It’s extremely well kept and clean. The staff was very friendly.
The sites are pretty private thanks to a good section of thick trees/bushes between each site.
Cons:
The sites and roads in are not very big rig friendly. We’re in a 31’ TT and had a tough time getting in and out. If you’re not in a tent or under 30 feet I’d maybe keep looking. The sights were narrow and short.
The sites are all on soft, lose, sugar sand. So it’s pretty dusty and a little difficult on your jack pads/levelers.
The road is pretty close to one row of sites to it can be loud with traffic.

Most sites are bigger than they suggest. Bathrooms were nice and showers held up to morning use. The native American statue they have in the brochure is falling apart. The beach is a bit of drive away but very nice - we went to Flagler so that our dog could run on the beach.

Park roads and sites are packed sand - roads are very bumpy but most sites are pretty good but sand gets everywhere !
Location is near water - rivers and creeks for kayaking and a short drive to the beach.
Bathrooms and showers were good with laundry available for $2 wash and dry.
Larger rigs may have trouble finding a site and/or navigating to it.

Stayed two nights at Tomoka State Park and enjoyed our visit. We booked last minute and were pleasantly surprised by the location. It does not sit on the ocean but rivers leading to the ocean. It was a great spot of a day or two. We had site 87 and it was surrounded by heavy foliage. The other campsites were kind of close but we really could not see anyone because of how think it was. The sites are all sand and not the most level spots. It was about a mile walk to the store and riverfront area. There is not much to see, I did a little fishing but did not have any luck. A nice place to visit and would recommend it for a short visit (not much else to do, unless you have a boat and like to fish then this place is a dream).

This is a great park with 100 sites to pick from in all different sizes and configurations. Miles of sand roads run throughout the park with boat rentals, fishing piers and picnic spots. Close to stores and shopping in nearby Daytona Beach.
