I booked a site online. I entered trailer for my vehicle and I clicked pet. The pet fee was not added to the total, so I thought surely they are not charging for a pet staying in my trailer. I was wrong. They were hitting me up for $30 at check in for a 10 pound dog. Holy cow I don’t pay that at a Hyatt. I’m not sure I’m going to pa... more

I’m not sure I’m going to pay it. A $30 pet fee for $56 camping spot. Sounds like BS to me.

unfortunately campgrounds were all closed at glacier national park so we selected this one solely on proximity to the park. $54 without sewer; $64.80 with. Even though multiple sites were vacant, they packed us in next to each other. Way to expensive for a very basic site.

The nice thing is that this campground is very close to glacier! It is hard to back a trailer into. Sites are on a hill and very tight. It was hard getting my small 16 ft trailer in. The front office manager was extremely rude. I paid for a pull thru site and they gave me a back in one. I told the manager that I paid for the pull thru and he argued with me about it. I had to show him my email. He didn’t even apologize just said that’s all they had. The site they did give me was small and extremely hard to park my trailer.

Beautiful woodsy setting & close to West Glacier entrance, but campground is basically carved into the side of a mountain, which made for a bit of a steep & tight entrance into our pull-through site. Pricey for electric only (they do have full hookup sites as well), even with Fulltime Family discount. Water spigot available for filling tank. No dump on site, $5 dump at Conoco in Columbia Falls. Check in staff was very friendly. Showers clean, worth the 50 cents for 10 minutes since we didn't have full hook-ups. Right next to Hwy 2, traffic noise very noticeable.
This is our 2nd visit to the area, stayed at Spruce Park on the River in Kalispell 2 years ago. Next visit would probably find something flatter in nearby Columbia Falls.
*Tip for visiting Glacier NP: highly recommend Glacier Jeep Rentals in Columbia Falls. Rather than sweat driving our F350 dually truck up Going to the Sun Road, we rented a jeep for the day, pulled the top back & enjoyed the beautiful ride!

The wifi is ok if the park is not busy. Verizon works, T-mobile is non existent here. The best part is....the national park is just up the road...literally...so close! If you want to explore the park for multiple days, stay close to ease the drive. This park worked great. If you are a FTF member, they will waive the kid tax for children. We highly recommend visiting the town of Whitefish (20 minutes away)...super cute with some great restaurants and shops....you won't find anything in Hungry Horse...but the location near the park is fabulous.
barrygoodtimes would stay here again

We made a reservation for August 6-10, 2019. When we called last October 2018 to make the reservation we told them that we had a 40’ 5th wheel toy hauler with a motorcycle, 2 adults, no pets and no children. At that time they charged 1 nights fee for the reservation with the remainder due at check in. When arriving at Timber Wolf we were concerned because of the steep hills and the very loose gravel with our motorcycle. Upon check in we relayed our concerns about the lose gravel with the hills to the female owner as not being safe with our motorcycle and she said there was no reimbursement for our reservation, which we thought would be for the 1 night we had already paid for at the time we placed the reservation. When we told her that we didn’t feel safe with the motorcycle her response was “well you can unload it at the road” which was not an option – we were not about to leave our motorcycle down by the road unattended. When we said that we didn’t feel that we had a choice then if she wasn’t going to reimburse us, she said “you do have a choice, you can stay or do whatever”. So we went to our assigned campsite #14 and had to use four wheel drive to get to it – that’s how bad it was getting our 40’ 5th wheel to the campsite with the lose gravel. We then decided that we could not stay there for safety reasons with our motorcycle and we found another place to stay that was conducive. When we checked with our charge card company they informed us that Timber Wolf Resort at placed 2 charges on our charge card – one on August 2 and the other on August 5. Keep in mind that our reservation wasn’t to start until August 6. So we want back daily to Timber Wolf to see if they had filled campsite #14 with a camper which they had – we took photos each time. So we stopped at the office and talked to the female owner again to let her know that we knew that she had double booked campsite #14 and requested again that she reimburse us to which she said no. When we said that she was double dipping for the same campsite, her response was “that’s my prerogative”!!! We also let her know that our charge card company was submitting a claim on our behalf for reimbursement for non services received. It is not like Timber Wolf Resort lost money with us going elsewhere since they did book the campsite we were to be in. The female owner was not pleasant when we checked in and when we stopped a couple of days later to talk to her about her double dipping on the campsite. Why would you place charges on our charge card on August 2 and August 5 prior to the beginning of our reservation which was to start on August 6? You have collected money twice for the same campsite for the same dates!! How on earth can you consider that okay?? I can see you not reimbursing us if you were unable to rent the campsite we were given, but that is not the case as everyone can see from the attached photo of the campers in campsite #14 for the dates we reserved it for. When you refused to reimburse us we checked daily to take photos to prove that you had not lost money on campsite #14!! We are not trying to rip you off!! All we are asking for is what is right ... to refund our money for services which we did not receive and for which you did not lose money since you rented to someone else and received their money for services they did receive. When we made the reservations last October 2018 we told them that we had a 40' 5th wheel toy hauler with a motorcycle. They NEVER said anything about their property being on a mountain hillside with loose gravel which was unsafe with the motorcycle. Can you believe that the female owner actually suggested that we unload the motorcycle at the roadside!! We would never leave our motorcycle by the roadside and not have it at our campsite. As in the previous review, it is a terrible location for big rigs or motorcycles.
