Road is passable, a bit rutted in spots, but it appears to be in progress of being improved. Two spots immediately, one on the left and then on the right, above the wash. Did not cross the wash because it was pretty chewed up. Whole area might be difficult to navigate when wet if you don’t at least have AWD. I’m a car camper so can’t speak to towing anything.
Cleanliness probably depends on the season. Some previous campers left trash in one of the sites. Happened upon several large animal bones going down the road.
Lightning fast AT&T service.
Did not feel super safe as a solo female traveler after examining the trash left behind by previous campers.

Decent place to park it for a night or a few. Good level spots with some shade and picnic tables. Vault toilets but no other services or amenities. A good deal at eight dollars a night with my senior pass. Was able to find a spot long enough for my 29 foot Class C and I saw someone else squeeze in a Class A. A bit of road noise that... more

The kiosk to pay doesn't work , so you need to drive all the way back to Globe ranger station to pay. They must be on dial up because that took some time. We didn’t know what to expect because it had been years since someone left a review. We were very pleasantly surprised to find this is a great dry camping spot. Every site is huge with a bear vault, picnic table, and extra large fire pit with grill. There are several group sites throughout that are massive, and there’s also a day use area. There’s no running water or dumpsters, but there are pit toilets. We saw the ranger every day of our stay, checking tickets, picking up trash, and cleaning the bathrooms. The pay station was acting up (ranger said the site is so remote that the modem struggles to get a connection sometimes), but after three tries, it printed our ticket. America the Beautiful pass gets the campsite for $8. Strong Verizon signal.
Tons of birds. We heard turkeys calling around dawn. Beautiful old pine trees for shade but enough sunlight can still get through to charge solar. Some nice hiking behind the campground. We walked to a nearby lake and saw about 15 open range cows strolling around.
This campground is beautiful. We pulled into camp on a Monday, and there were only a couple other sites occupied. Not sure how it would be on the weekend. We’d definitely stay again.

Group site is actually not bad at all. But be prepared for people walking through the group site thinking it's still part of the other site.
Great thing was, we had about 20 turkeys strut through out campsite in the morning.
But get prepared for those "less fortunate" pretty much "living" there. This past weekend we had someone taking up about 3 or 4 spots, had about 15 dogs, and just looking like they were homeless.
I wish they wouldn't have raised the price to camp there. For the fact there is no running water or Garbage service. If they had one or the other, or even both, I could justify the price.

This is a nice place that is very clean. There is a little traffic noise from the highway but it isn't too loud. A lot of old double tracks with great views once you gain some elevation.
