We were shocked, after paying $72, to find an old, outdated, muddy park with very tight roads and small sites. Our 5th wheel is only 30'. So it's not as though we're an over sized rig. The sites were just very tight. With a camper parked on site 14, we weren't able to extend our awning. The sites and roads were muddy. The electric hookups were ancient. The park is way too expensive for the shape its in.

The staff is friendly and helpful. So that's a plus. And for as close as the park is to I-95, its relatively quiet.
But the spaces are small and tight along very tight roads. All sites are gravel with very old utilities hookups. It's just too pricey for what get.

Our hotspots all worked well so we were able to work here. Within an hour or two, you have access to a ton of cool places like Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head and Huntington Island State Park and a number of filming locations of Forrest Gump in particular. Cons - you are FAR from everything. Walmart is about 45 minutes away. There aren’t many activities at the park or much for kids to do. It’s great if you’re using it as a home base to explore the area or as an overnight off of 95. If you’re looking for amazing grits, Beedos was AMAZING!

This is the second time I have stayed here, and I will admit I rebooked by accident. The pool was condemned several years ago and shows no sign of being rebuilt or remediated in any way. There's no wifi, although the "game room" (check in office) says they have wired internet available in there. The cable is run in such a way that connectors are needed, and they charge for those. The site I was assigned is too small to open my awning without hitting my neighbor's RV. There's no way I could have a "fire ring", unless it was on my stove inside. I'm in a smaller truck and a 25' TT, and can usually squeeze into even the smallest site, but this would be cramped for a tent. I should have known what was up when they told me at check-in that if my truck wouldn't fit on my site I could park it across the street.
Have I mentioned that they warn you about the alligators that have taken over the recreational area? I won't make this mistake again.

we arrived around 6 or 7. Office was empty and they left reservation info at the post. no call or text to tell me this. Site was covered in leaves and sticks. Very close together. I was emptying tanks right next to the neighbors door.

The "amenities" are buried under pine needles and yard waste, including the ramshackle 2x4 bins they set up for horses and the algae-crusted mini-golf area that is barely visible from underneath the foliage.
The icing on the cake? They have Dominion Gas transformers sprinkled all throughout the campground and neither the gas company nor the nonexistent maintenance team notice that the transformers are open and unsecured. One touch, someone will die an extremely painful death.
I have children and am camped right beside one such unsecured transformer. I am livid.
The pool is wide open, green and closed. The dog park looks like a dump and the “trails” completely unmarked save for the green spray paint on two large oaks at the mouth of the trail. That’s it.

I pulled in late at night set up and thought I was safe to stay the day but I did get a knock asking if I had registered and if I was a member. They were SOOOOOO nice about the mix up and I honestly really thought it was free because I have be finding amazing full hook up free campsites. From how nice and understanding the staff was to how relaxing the place is with a nice lake and great laundry room, I would def become a member to stay here. Thanks for being so awesome!

Couple things that surprised us with this Thousand trails campground. Pretty much all the spaces are Pull through with 30 and 50 amp service and sewer hook up. It is very rare for Thousand trails to have this many full hook up sites. Other than that is is typical Thousand trails the sites are pretty basic most do not have outside tables. Maintenance is not a priority for Thousand Trails. The bath rooms where clean. The pool was closed due to lack of a on site operator??? Due to the many nice big trees satellite signal is questionable but they do offer cable. Also something we have not seen at Thousand trails campgrounds. Camp spaces can get marshy after a heavy rain but the do dry out. You are about and hour away from Savanna. Nice walking path around a couple bigger ponds. Be on the look out for Alligator's Nice park for a quick stay or longer. Would stay here again.
