Coming back from out West and needed a place to stop for the night. This was a has full hookup’s for $50 cash. Pulled in with a 37’ Class A towing a Jeep and didn’t even unhook. Stayed in site 10 and it was very flat. I would stay again for the night.

This interesting little campground (CG) was right off I-94. You pull up to the self-check-in kiosk (for better words) adjacent to the restaurant to get your envelope to pay for the site. There is a drop box to deposit your envelope after completed. We had called a month earlier about RV reservations, but they only had a couple of campers come in the two days we were there; maybe in the summer months, you would need reservations. They had one long-termer. A few truckers overnighted on the far side of the property in a large parking lot. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so we called the number on the board, which is the owners, to let them know we were here and would like reservations at the restaurant on Tuesday since we were staying here for two nights, but as this was off-season and not the weekend, we didn’t need them. There are 20 sites here; if you would share utilities and drive in opposite directions, otherwise there are 10 sites. The sewer connection on site 8 was more flat to the ground, so we backed into that FHU site. In the first 4 sites, the sewer connection is about 4 to 6 inches above the ground. There’s a large grass area so that you could pull in like a pull-through, but your utilities would be on the opposite side unless you chose site 1. The utilities are pretty much in the center of these hard-packed grass sites with some gravel mixed in. All the sites are in a straight line parallel to I-94 with a large field/parking lot for the restaurant in front, which made backing a breeze. Water pressure was good at about 50 psi, and there was no problem with the electric or sewer as they looked new. We got 4 bars on Verizon, and there’s a clear shot of the sky in any direction, as there are no trees or obstacles. There are no picnic tables, firepits, or WiFi. The majority of CG reviews on this place stated that the highlight of this place was the Fort at 49 Restaurant, which is open Tue - Sat. They used to be open for lunch Wed-Sat, but are not anymore, just dinner from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The restaurant utilizes a chalk menu with about 8 items, with 4 of the items being weekly special rotations. The wife and husband (Becky and Dave, who were delightful hosts), owners of the restaurant and CG, are both professional chefs and actually met in culinary school in Texas. Dave does most of the cooking, and Becky attends the bar and tables. The restaurant has a full-service bar with a decent wine selection, which features a local winery, Yellowstone, that uses grapes from Oregon. We tried two different Yellowstone red blends, and they were both very good and well-priced for a restaurant. The food was really, really good and worth the stay. Other than that, there is nothing special about this RV park, nor is the town of Custer. We’d overnight here again but would make sure to stay on a night the restaurant was open.

We were traveling from Bismarck to Billings on business and only 50 miles or so from Billings. It was a Friday in early Oct '22 so we decided to stop after Patty had read reviews online of the restaurant. Entry to the campground is wide and level, just off I-94. Some noise during the day, but pretty quiet at night. Upon arrival we were told to pick a spot and come back and pay later. Campground is nothing special, no marked sites except by the location of the utilities, grass and gravel. The ground was solid enough that I had no worries about our 53K lbs sinking if it rained.
The restaurant is run by a couple and some extra help during the evening. Open for lunch, closed for dinner prep and then opening again for dinner. We understand reservations are advised. The entrees were excellent with large proportions. Patty had one of the best prime ribs in a very long time. She ordered the small cut and it was huge.
We extended our stay by a night so we could have lunch and visit Little Bighorn Battlefield just about an hour to the south. We should have planned a whole day to visit the battlefield. Next time we will bring our bikes along and ride them instead of driving the route that is narrated via cell phone. We splurged for dinner again before leaving.
This definitely will be a stop, if only for lunch or dinner when we travel 94 again. We give it 4 stars for full 50amp hook-ups, excellent food, and camaraderie.

This is a no frill camping spot but it is excellent! Full hookups for the fraction of the cost. Owners are the Chefs at the restaurant. Had a meal that was what most high end restaurants serve at a reasonable cost. They are polite and extremely friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

A gravel parking lot in back of the restaurant- full hook-ups. A comfortable price. Restaurant was friendly and food was good. Easy on/off of I92. It’s a very basic stop over after a long drive. You won’t be too disappointed

We had full hookups, even though all we used was the 50 amp.
And, they honor Passport America so it only cost us $20 a night!! You can’t beat that!
Didn’t get to enjoy the restaurant because they were closed. But we will definitely put this spot on our favorites!

We tow a car trailer and all 63’ maneuvered the lot and fit in any space.
We had a fan going so we’re not bothered by freeway noise which is very light traffic overnight.
The restaurant is a true mission of passion that has farm-to-table ingredients. The corn fir the chowder was picked nearby, the cherry tomatoes from the garden, and the personality of each dish was delicious.
Two Budweisers, dinner for two, and a full hookups overnight = $80.
We recommend this location.

It’s an ok place to stay for an over night. Not much here, no amenities. A little high priced for what you get. That being said, it was easy to get on and off the freeway and traffic noise was at a minimum. Fairly level spots with good power and water pressure. Restaurant was closed so didn’t have a chance to eat there.
