First trip 1998 . We’ve been going every year since. Absolutely no internet or cell reception in the park . I mean absolutely no internet or cell coverage in the park.

It’s off season so the north loop of this campground was the only part of the park still open, and it was barely open. No showers, no dump stations, just the vault toilets and the drinking water. That being said, it was staffed with a helpful ranger who got us checked in and suggested the perfect hike for us. The campsite was private and had a little trail right to the water for gorgeous views. Cost for an out-of-towner was $25 plus $13 for a day pass. Would stay again just for the great location right in Peninsula State Park.

Great state park for gravel bike riding, views, and general Fish Creek door county area. However, the Tennison campground has a lot of flaws. First, no-one is trimming the trees and we had to cut many ourselves to get our motorhome in and out without major scratches. The fire pits are not getting cleaned out and previous campers have simply thrown ashes into the woods next to the site. While we didn't use the baths or showers, a walk by the buildings gave the impression that they were not being well maintained. Numerous pot holes in the road made for a shaky ride as we were passing by trees on either side. We would stay there again but only if certain sites with easier access and more open space were available.

We stayed here on a weeknight in a camper van. The North campground loop bath house is old, but the South loop bath house is very new. Good trails for hiking and biking. The lighthouse can be toured for $5. Huge dump station. Nice campground.
