I was lucky to roll in around 6:30pm and get the last available spot. Most spots were reserved already. I only needed one night and found one spot that had availability for that night. It was BEAUTIFUL. I stayed in Site #3. It has steps going down to the picnic table and fire pit and grill. There was a trail leading to the river behind the site. The entire campground is tree covered and lush. You can hear some traffic noise from the highway and the bathrooms are out of order (clean and nice smelling porta potties available.) The camp host was very nice and accommodating. Overall will definitely stay again!

Site 24 also looked good, but is close to the group sites, so it has the potential to be noisy. The campground seems to be more geared towards tents than campers. We had no problem with our 16’ camper but bigger rigs could have tough time navigating some of the roads and fitting into some of the sites. Site 16 was very level, but other sites were not.
There is lots of traffic noise unless you are near the creek.

Lots of little short trials around campground. Little stream running through, but it's prohibited to get in it. NO DOGS ALLOWED! I wouldn't recommend any Trailer over 26ft, we have a 28ft and the site we were scheduled for #12 we couldn't fit. They also have available a huge group area with flush toilets and an amphitheater as well. The only noisy sites are the ones close to the street like ours, but it does quite down at night. The host were very helpful changing our site.

I loved this campground! Awesome trails and hikes nearby and the sound of running water from the river... But, I wish I would have known about Campendium when we stayed here because their information is accurate about trailer size. We were on Recreation.gov when we picked the location and our sites. My sister ended up taking campsite 18 because she didn't think our trailer and truck would be able to fit in the pull-through site (80 ft max rv size) and she was right. We took her site, campsite 19 (42 ft) and we barely fit. (See pictures). Needless to say Recreation.gov is not accurate. We are a 35 ft trailer from rear bumper to front of hitch and 21 more feet for our hitch and front of truck. We parked our truck sideways in front of the trailer and it was on the edge of the road. The roads are very narrow and have tight turns. Seriously. We don't recommend anything over 28 ft for this reason.
Side note* vehicles are known to overheat up this canyon so don't run your ac if you can help it. Also we have google fi cell service with no problems while camping.

The scenery is breathtaking. I didn’t use the restrooms. Water faucets located throughout campground.
The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful.
No issues with noise.
A mountain bike/hiking trail is unmarked prior to site 12. You’ll see two small boulders at the edge of the paved road. Lots of mountain bikers and few hikers. I did 5 miles o/b. Great hike.

The restrooms could use a little TLC, but overall the campground was beautiful. Camp hosts were very nice. All of the sites are easily accessible and some have concrete pads with fire pits. A bit tight for longer trailers. Don't think any 5th wheels could negotiate the tight curves. I think sites 14 & 16 are my favorites.

This place is the perfect little sweet spot, and my daughter and I cannot more highly recommend it. The convenience of its location down the mountain from Snowbird Resort means loads of fun is just up the road, as is concessions and dining options if you're one of those kinds of campers. The campsite we stayed at was backed-up against a cool, clean, clear, and gorgeous mountain creek. The camp hosts were *adorably* proud of their campground, and made us feel so very welcomed. The site was spacious, quiet, and very private, and we were provided with a stable fire ring, picnic table, and camping stove! I seem to recall we had to provide our own water, would be my only caveat. We found ourselves thinking fondly of this place as we continued on our month-long camping adventure through Utah, California, and Oregon, and I plan on returning with my family next year for sure.

This campground is so beautiful!
The high fee and 2 night minimum is totally worth it. We stayed in site number 2 which has a trail leading right up to a winding brook that was a roaring cascade due to snow melt. Everywhere you look there is moss or some greenery, the smell of pine trees and earth is amazing You will not believe you are 30 minutes away from smoggy Salt Lake City.
The river is part of the Salt Lake City watershed so no dogs allowed anywhere and no bathing or wading is allowed in the water. There were some folk fishing and they asked to pass through our campsite to gain access to the river. Actually that's why this site lost one star- kids and grown ups kept wandering in and out of our campsite asking questions and testing our patience.
If you want privacy site 2 is not for you.
By 8am next morning we almost the entire campground to ourselves. Check out time is 1pm so we figured folks were on their way somewhere else or going down to the suburbs to eat breakfast- it's that close to Sandy and about 35 minutes from Salt Lake City center.
We explored the open sites and quickly realized sites 3 and 5 were the "best".
We called site 3 The Duplex because the picnic table, charcoal and fire pit are on one level and a dirt tent site up about 15 yards on an upper level- super cute and the river sounds amazing.
Site 5 was lower on the slope the whole campground is on so it feels more private and had large granite boulders blocking it from the deer trails that lead curious campers into site 2- this site is right above the river and GORGEOUS.
Site 4 is a double site which seemed pretty exposed but was also sunk into the slope so was more private than expected and it had spectacular river access- gorgeous trees and 2 falls. It fit 3 large SUV type cars in the parking spot.
The other sites were nice but further away from the river and closer to the road which seems to inspire people to drive like maniacs. 90% of the weekend campers here are families with kids. Great site for younger kids to explore but watch them in the rapidly moving river.
Mosquitos are also an issue for early summer but bug spray kept them away. Lots of deer and ground squirrels around so don't leave food out. Camp manager was very kind and answered all our questions. There is wood and ice available at the campground.
There is no cell access here since the campground sinks into a very steep canyon. But no worries just travel a minutes up or down the road and you can place calls easily. There are also plenty of grocery shopping you can do in Sandy if you forget anything.

This was our first campground try with our little 12' camper. Overall, this is our favorite go-to campground with city comforts close by. With a wet spring this campground can get a bit over grown. Very tight roads and pads provided a challenge. You will definitely refine your maneuvering skills here! No hookups but the campground has many flush and pit toilets scattered throughout. Most of the sites are walk up tent camping and a few are pull-through sites but all have great access to the river, which can get extremely wild in spring and early summer. The River's white noise will usually drown out (so to speak) any loud campers nearby - which there are always a few.

We camped at Tanners Flat in August of 2013 and really enjoyed our stay. All of the sites have a great deal of tree cover and vary in size and layout. This is by no means a big rig campground. We had a hard time getting our little rig into our site. Not because of length but the ability to navigate between the trees (and we had a pull through). Our site was quite big which was good as we had family come meet us for dinner. Some of the sites (like 016) are all concrete, while others (like 013) have a good deal of sand. Tables were made of wood which you will likely want to cover before using. The fire-pits were simple metal or concrete rings with no cooking grates.
All in all it was a nice place to go for a quick, close to home, camping trip. With Snowbird and Alta just up the canyon there are several activities and restaurants to keep you busy.
