“Not perfect, but we adapt”

Overall Rating

We spent 3 nights in Idabel to visit family members. It was not easy to find a campground in this small town. Tall Pines appears to be fairly new. There is no office in the park, no bathhouse, no hiking trails. The sites and drives are covered with gravel. Grass has been planted and is growing. There are no pines but there are some trees and shrubby areas.
We did not find any 30 amp connections. Thankfully we had a converter and could use the 50 amp connection.
The reservations are made through CampSpot. It assigned us to site 03. We parked there, but that was a mistake. It is too narrow for our awning. We use a 25 foot travel trailer with no slides. For some reason there was and still is a makeshift bin of trash in site 03 giving off a faint garbage odor. I notified management, but it was not moved.
In hindsight, now I know we could have just picked out a site and moved. The park was occupied about 50%. Two of the sites definitely appear to be permanent residents. The others appear to be housing for people working in the area.
We will camp here again if needed. But do yourself a favor, and do not settle for site 03!
