We stayed in the Sylan Park campground. The RV sites are crushed rock and all but one seemed quite level. 30 amp electric is the max, so if it is hot and you are in a big rig, the City campgrounds may not be your best choice. Lot's of tent camping sites around the RV sites and the pond.
Enjoy the paved bike trail, fishing in the Root River and its tributaries, golfing on one of the hilliest 9-hole courses you have ever seen or just able around the town.

You are really close to a trout pond and playground, and a short walk away from downtown Lanesboro.

There are tent and RV sites. Current price is $20 for a tent site/$30 for an RV site. The tent sites are around a small pond with ducks and fishing. The RV sites are pretty close together and there’s not much privacy, but they’re fine. RV sites have electric and water hookups.
There’s a small bath house near the campground and additional showers/restrooms in the library building. Showers are coin operated - 4 quarters gets you five minutes but it’s a good shower!
The campground is behind the city library. When you pull into the main parking lot, keep going around to the right and follow the road back to the campground.

Payment by cash or check in 'iron ranger," or you can pay by credit card in the Town Office adjacent to the park/campground. $30 per night may seem a bit steep, but you can stay for a week for $155.
Quaint little town with several shops, places to eat, etc. Population 700. Adjacent to Root River State Trail (great biking location).

It’s a really nice location - right in town - if you want to be able to walk to stores or go to the library or fish right there in the pond next to the campsite. This place also allows both big rigs (though some might have trouble getting in) and tents. It’s also not very busy, but that might have been more the fact that it was 20° that night and a Thursday. The little bathhouse was also heated and open so that was a plus, considering many campgrounds in MN don’t offer that at this time of year. But ultimately the price bothered me. $20 to tent, and $30 for an RV, and the water at the trailer sites was shut off. I absolutely understand why, but I hate paying those kind of fees when stuff isn’t working.
