Sunrise is 10 minutes up the mountain from Bear Lake so it's fairly popular and books early. Logan Canyon is one of the most scenic mountain passes in Utah and deserves it's own day of exploration. There are many campgrounds on the way through the canyon so you may not need to reserve a space but it's advisable to book ahead for July and August weekends.
Sunrise is on top of the hill next to a visitor center. Site 27 is the first campsite you encounter when entering the campground and fairly close to the road. Unfortunately this means you hear truck engine breaks in the early morning hours and lots of car traffic in the evenings.
Site 11 has views of the lake and set is deep inside the campground so I will be booking that next time around.
The camp host was very kind and let us know that they had seen 2 bears and a mountain lion the week before and that we shouldn't let the kids play out of sight. Not the best beginning to a camping trip but we knew this might be possible this far up the mountains.
This campground only has 1 working water spigot right in front of the camp host's site. Tent campers will have to into town to wash dishes or dump dirty water into your fire grate.
The spaces are fairly private and there is plenty of park space for a medium RV or a boat hauler. The bathroom was really clean for a pit toilet.
Bring bug spray and a stand up canopy for your visit to Bear Lake- there is very little tree cover.

Mid May. The entrance was covered by lasting snow patches. There/s a rest area right next with a great overlook of Bear lake. Posted "no overnight camping" but quite a bit of almost level.
