East of Atlanta, lots to do & see just at the Park, let alone Atlanta & vicinity. Careful entrance through the kiosk's at the entrance, take the first left (Stonewall Jackson Drive), do not follow your GPS, it will fail you! Tons of spaces for a variety of prices and features. The least expensive (360 series) sites have uneven asphalt and are mostly back-in and narrow. We opted for a bit better with a level concrete lined gravel site. Good utilities, restroom facilities, trails and attractions. Take the aerial tram to the top of Stone Mountain for the view. You should have bicycles or golf cart if you don't want to drive all around. Funny that there is no safe beach area or swimming - the lake is off-limits to swimming, fishing & boating only.

The premium sites are expensive but worth it. The lessor sites may be hard to get your RV into and many the lessor sites are not FHU. Lots of walking trails the amusement park with train ride and cable rise to the top of Stone Mountains will provide visitors with things to do for a three night visits.

Wifi was horrible. Verizon was average and worked for streaming. Starlink did not work due to trees.

Very expensive park. Look online to see what all they have. A few things: Skyride, Train, etc. Lots for children.
There are some really nice sites on the water. Those were hard to get. Our site was terrible. They dug it out, so it was like we were in a topless cave. The walls were high and the site was narrow. There were dead trees all above us. When pulling in our neighbors warned us a limb fell on camper that just left.
There is a lake all around the park, you can swim, or kayak.
The best sites there were probably, 280, 282, 284, 291, 354, 356. Site 354 looked to be the best site. Its in the blue zone, which is Electric & Water only.
There are different zones in the campground, blue, red, etc. We were in red. Which was full hookup with cable. Our zone had bathrooms with showers which were quite nice and clean and big!
If you have children, its a good expensive place to stay. Just be choosy on your site. I would stay here again if children were with me.

My family and I love to tent camp, but we know how hot and humid the South is in the summer so we decided to rent one of the on-site trailers in July 2022.
First off, the price was a little upsetting for what we got. I figured with paying close to what we normally pay for condos that the camper would be a little nicer/ stocked with the bare minimum. Nope. The camper was filthy and bare of basic necessities. We were never informed of this and I wouldn't have even known had I not done research (after paying unfortunately). I'm used to bringing my own linens, but we had to bring any and all utensils, mixing bowls, cups, pots, pans, etc. If I would have known this ahead of time, I would have used the money we paid towards a condo and at least had room to spread out. As for the cleanliness, the window coverings had huge brown stains from something all over them and were either broken or barely operable. The carpet was wet the entire time and we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. The floors were nasty as were the beds (there was all kinds of dust and other things surrounding the platform with the mattress) and every time it rained, a huge puddle of water would leak out from under the sink cabinet. We still aren't sure where it came from.
The beds. THEY'RE AWFUL. I'm used to sleeping directly on the ground in our tent and I prefer that to these beds. I have three children. Two of my children slept on the bunks and another on the pull out. They are ages 8,11, & 15. They all woke up sore and in pain from the crappy mattresses. We ended up having to get camping mats to lay on top of the mattresses after the first day. My child on the pullout couch had the most comfortable (if you could call it that) bed, but when he laid in it, it sunk under him and the edges would curl up. He only weighs about 60 lbs so there is no telling how or if it would support an adult. As for the main bed, I had to pull the clean clothes out of my bag and place them as a thick "mat" on the bed to make it halfway comfortable. The springs would dig into mine and my husband's body and leave marks.
We didn't spend much time on our phones or with the television on during the day, but at night when were settling in or during the stormy weather, it would have been nice to have the wi-fi and cable that were "included in the price". We had neither. The wi-fi was terrible and rarely worked and there was absolutely no cable. We ended up buying extra data for our phones just so we could watch a show when the kids went to bed. All in all, we spent more than we would have if we were just going on a regular, non-campground vacation and were uncomfortable all week.
As for the campground as a whole, it was clean and nice. We enjoyed the grounds and plan to return with our tent, but were so upset with the rental. Definitely not worth the price at all.
High points- Clean bath houses in convenient locations. Lots of paths for the kids to play. Beautiful views. Close to the park and patrolled well by the groundskeepers.
Low points- Weird pool hours (they're awful- we went to the public pool because it was hard to pinpoint when they were open). Rental trailers-spend the money elsewhere.

Pros: The camp ground is very nice. Some loops are better maintained than others. Keep that in mind when you book. The main loops around the office are the best. You have beautiful views of the lake and Stone Mountain.
Cons: pool closes at 5pm. Honestly I’ve never been to or heard of a camp ground pool closing this early. Huge downer for the kids. I’m addition swimming in the lake is prohibited as well.
Neither here nor there: There is laundry service but you can only get quarterly at the office which opens at 9p.
WiFi is nonexistent. I don’t expect much from campground WiFi, but don’t advertise it if you can’t reliably check emails. Verizon get 2 bars but even at that service is limited.
Overall it’s a nice family campground. The pool closing early really hurts the experience for the kids.
4/5 stars C+ only because of the pool hours.
