“Some Good, Some Bad ”

The pros: gorgeous views. Mild climate. Park had some fun kids activities, the crawfishing (and subsequent crawfish boil) was awesome. Cute little marina shop for ice cream and souvenirs.

The cons: most disgusting pit toilet I’ve ever seen, the mosquitoes were insanely bad, it was very windy in the afternoons, and I can’t emphasize enough how bad the bugs were. Sites are really close together, so there’s not much privacy.

Overall, it was a nice trip but I definitely wouldn’t come back.

“Great spot in an isolated area”

Stoll Mountain is a more isolated campground within the Eleven Mile State Park. We stayed Thurs - Monday and 2 of the nights we were there we had 1 maybe 2 neighbors (Thurs and Sun night). If you like to fish it's a great area to just pop down to the lake. The campground is about a 5 min drive from the playground, marina, amphitheater and main office. Be prepared for A LOT of bugs in the morning and again in the evening. For a great day trip head over to Eleven Mile Canyon (a National Forest) which has a separate day fee.
Site 309 was long enough for a 30' airstream but it was a bit of a slope so we needed quite a few blocks to get level. Eleven mile is known for its spectacular night skies and the site didn't disappoint. I was able to get a few great shots with just an iPhone. The campground hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival. The fire pit was full of charred logs, there was dog poop and some trash around as well.
Cell service was ok at the site but spotty throughout the park. We used a Starlink for internet connection and had no obstacles to the North sky. Solar panels were at full strength with no overhead obstructions.
