“Great scenery if you don’t have neighbors ”

They really need to do something about the lack of privacy here. I wish they would build rustic log blinds or something similar between back to back spots because you are watching your neighbors do their business the whole time. There are vault toilets, and there was no potable water. Also, the dump station across the road was closed. But you can’t beat the closeness of the reservoir. Also, China Meadows was just 3 miles up the road, so we went fishing there every day. Great location, beautiful aspens and pines, close to good fishing. Camp host was good. The pine beetles have really destroyed a lot of the forests, which is a bummer. Also, the dirt road inside the national forest was crazy bumpy. I wish they would pave it. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. Four is too generous with the rocky road, vault toilets, non-potable water, closed dump station, and lack of privacy. Three is too low because I would stay here again, no problem.
S T would stay here again

“Generator noise spoiled it for us”

We camped with friends in 4 separate sites. The pit toilets were filthy, with toilet paper on the floors, and they were smelly even for pit toilets. The worst we’ve seen on the COVID era. The water that’s available in the campground is non-potable, so be sure to bring your own or be prepared to boil it. But what bothered us the most was the generator noise from the camp host, camped in the site next to the restrooms. The noisy generator ran from 8am to almost 10pm. Who do you complain to? After 3 days, we were totally ground down and frazzled from the constant generator noise.
The campground itself is ok. Sites are mostly shady, if a little close to each other. Lots of kids. The reservoir is close, an easy walk, and there are plenty of fishermen and kayaks. Some people bring their ATVs or Razors to explore the surrounding areas.
On our trip the campground was full. Otherwise we would have asked to change campsites to ones further from the noisy generator. But we held our noses and covered our ears, but we won’t be back.
