I stayed one night at the East Glacier KOA Holiday after wildfires resulted in the last minute cancellation of an upcoming reservation. I only needed water and electric, so $118 for one night was quite expensive. I was assigned a back-in site near the main office; the site was unpaved, not quite level and without shade. In fact, the entire campground lacks trees or any natural landscaping to provide shade or wind breaks. My neighbors on either side and behind me were pretty close without anything to provide privacy. This can be a very windy location - yes, I realize it's Montana, but there aren't any nearby trees to shield the campground.
It wasn't all negative. The bathrooms/showers were clean and well maintained; the campground staff were friendly and helpful; and there are amenities and activities available if you're camping with children. It was quiet at night, as the campground is reasonably far from the main highway. My Verizon signal was passable - it's much stronger on Highway 89 - but I was able to use the internet. Glacier National Park is a short drive away, as are the area's only restaurants, fuel and gift shops.
If you have a large rig, this may work well for you. However, I happily returned to a campground inside the park (no amenities) the following day for a quarter of the price. I would only return in a pinch due to the high cost.

Pool and playground for the kids. great camp store with groceries, souvenirs, and ice cream. 24 hour laundry facility, clean bathrooms and showers. Dish washing sink. Bikes for use at campground (free!). We stayed in an RV site. Decent wifi. Friendly staff, quiet. No traffic noise at all. We felt like the price was appropriate for the proximity to the park and amenities. They even have pizzas made on site and delivered to your campsite which is great after a day of hiking!

Fantastic access to Many Glacier, Going To The Sun and Waterton. It’s a little rough. Not super level. Gravel is dusty. However … Love that the staff will come walk your dog while you’re in the park. We’ll be back. Super convenient.

We’ve arrived to this campground yesterday with a reservation that was made 4 month ago. We have reserved 2 camp sites. When we arrived we found out that they have charged us extra $15 per night per site for reserving a side by side site (which was never disclosed to us prior to our arrival), on top of the $105/night/site (before taxes). In addition they have placed us first raw to the playground which was full of screaming kids. The site was gravel and sloped making it very hard to level our RV. When we have requested to move to a different site, we were told the the campground is full and there is no way to move us anywhere.
After staying there for a few hours, we’ve decided to look elsewhere, and we have moved to a nearby campground which is located less then a mile away, but closer to Glacier NP, beautiful park, and paid about a third of the price. KOA spends a lot of money in marketing, and that’s what you pay for…

Very clean laundry. Bathrooms were mostly clean. Found most of the staff to be pretty rude. WiFi is not as good as they advertise. It definitely depends on where you are located. Found that the back of the camper was on a different repeater that didn’t work even though it was closer to the office. Very annoying to have to keep signing in because the WiFi would drop or switch repeaters. Do not count on it. Some of the sites the water pipe is so short it can be difficult to connect to. Pool area needs some maintenance and couldn’t get the hot tub jets to work. Kayaks were not available as advertised but you can borrow the bikes for free. Trails are nice and take you to the river and lake. I know it’s a KOa but the amount of kids and dogs running wild was difficult to manage. Decent views but much better at Johnsons. Ultimately lost stars because of rude staff, high price and internet being pretty terrible even though they say it is awesome

This KOA is better than some we've used and the location is amazing. The views alone are worth the higher price. The close proximity to the GNP makes it well worth the price. The is a place to which we'll hopefully return. Sites are mostly level, bathrooms are very clean, laundry is good size but half the washers and half the dryers (literally) were "out of order". There wouldn't be enough washers/dryers if they were all working but to have half broken made for a very frustrating experience. People wouldn't track the time of their loads so after waiting awhile for the offender to empty the appliance (we stayed during our loads), the contents would be removed so others could use it. One person even used a dryer for one pair of sneakers and left them for nearly an hour before they were removed by another guest.
Other than the laundry being disappointing, we found the sites too close in the L section, especially the ones near the tenting sites (the F section was better). In the L section, we had folks tenting about six feet behind our rig, which just seems wrong in some way.
We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and well maintained. Very crowded in the afternoons.
Wifi was pretty good. Some days it was inconsistent with videos and live streaming freezing regularly.
Store is decent but no cereal, which we found curious. No milk alternatives or produce of any kind, not even a single banana. FYI - the little local St Mary's grocery store is a joke - don't go. $12 for a small box of Cheerios so we turned and ran! We did our shopping in Browning. If you won't be staying very long, shop before you come and you'll be fine. We were here long enough we had to go into Browning for one shopping trip during our stay.
Noise levels were generally low and night was very quiet. During the day, we'd hear neighbors, especially those tenting. And the kids, to no surprise, were annoyingly loud at times, with no obvious supervision most of the time.
Generally speaking, this is a great place to stay if you're here to stay awhile. If you're just passing through, it's not worth the $100+ per/nt plus tax (check out is 11a).

We enjoyed the walking trails. Great customer service. Recommend that you stock up on groceries before you come - the stores have low stock and are expensive. Shortage of staff has resulted in fewer hours and options for restaurants.

With respect, this marks the greatest deviation I’ve had with other members of this community regarding the rating of a campground.
I simply can’t see rating this park as low as 3. Here’s why.
We all know the national parks are overwhelmed. Glacier NP is one of our nation’s treasures, but the amount of people coming in on the west side is much greater than the east side, so that makes the east side attractive, with access to the east side of the park,Many gGlacier and Two Medicine.
This park is set on a mountainside about two miles from the gate. The views from the sites of the surrounding mountains are superb. The restrooms are clean. There is a fairly robust camp store and ice cream area. Large laundry. Pull through sites are not the closest I’ve seen, and are fairly reasonable for a private park. Ours had w/s/e. They have a pool and Jacuzzi.
Very quiet at night.
All those things cost money and contribute to a high price, regardless of whether you use them or not, which is the KOA way.
Criticisms of lawn maintenance between sites are fair, but the park is otherwise well maintained and the people who run it are nice.
WiFi exists but is poor and this is where the campground needs to do a better job. Streaming and WiFi calling for att customers who are without cell service here is very poor. Every call dropped.
We have driven through two other campgrounds nearby and they are at least two stars worse than this one, based on condition and view.
So as to location, access and noise, this is a five star location. That helps explain why people reserve here a year in advance. This was by far the most difficult reservation we made in preparation for a 4.5 month trip around the country. Don’t count on this being available during the short season last minute. Reserve for next year now.
Why are so many people making this a difficult rez to score if it’s a three-star property?
To me the location and general site amenities overwhelmingly make this a four-star campground, party given the few and far less desirable alternatives.
I hope this review helps you make your decision, and I hope the campground reads this and ups their WiFi capability.

Very poor service. Called to cancel (I was not in my cancellation window, they didn’t owe me my money back. Trans went out in my vehicle) and was told that if they sold the room they would refund my money. Friends up there told me that people were staying in my cabin and when I called they said it’s not your cabin since you didn’t show up (but I paid for that cabin in full) and proceeded to call me an idiot and say it’s my problem. When told I could have been lying I said “if I show you the receipt for the trans then do I get my money back” NO! Point is poor customer service and bad business practices. I’ve stayed at 30+ KOAs in the past year alone. Never again. PS when I said I’d leave this review I was told I was a bully and that “they would leave a review on me too!” Babies. Next call is to the Better business bureau. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
