Question about St. Mary Campground

St Mary Campground goes first come first serve mid August this year. We’d like to stay there and explore the east side before our reservations at Apgar September 5 (day after Labor Day). This has us trying to figure out when (which day) to arrive at St Mary, with Labor Day looming.

We plan to stay about an hour drive east of St Mary the night before to arrive as early as practical in the morning to get a site. Does St Mary fill up Labor Day weekend? Has anyone arrived there (first come first serve) on Labor Day weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun)?

According to Glacier National Park website, St Mary campground goes on First Come starting September 16, 2023. So assumption is if you don't have a reservation, then good luck. https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/reservation-campgrounds.htm

We had reservations and it was full at the time we were there July - have no idea how full it would be for Labor Day -
