I loved this place. The manager is super helpful and the weekly rate brought our cost down to $30 a night which is a good deal for 50 amp full hookups. I loved this place. The manager is super helpful and the weekly rate brought our cost down to $30 a night which is a good deal for 50 amp full hookups. The town is a typical upstate New York small town with historic buildings, etc. It's nestled in the Mohawk river valley and is very peaceful. The local stores within walking distance include a grocery, drug, hardware and convenience stores.
Because this town was built along the Mohawk River where the Erie Canal runs, the campground is at the marina on the canal. This means that every mode of transport follows the river valley. The CSX has a double track mainline a stone's throw behind the campground. If trains are your thing, as they are mine, you can't give this place a high enough rating. It was awesome. I-90 runs south of the river, far enough away that you don't notice the traffic noise.
All in all, the week exploring the area blew past a little faster than expected.
