“Muddy Dirt Roads And Soggy Grass Campsites. Not Motorhome Friendly.”

This campground is all dirt roads and grass campsites. There was no mention of this on the website. I would not have booked it if I had known. We turned off a paved highway onto a bumpy dirt road. After a couple of miles we entered the campground. We came in late at dusk but checkin was easy. There is a hidden computer screen beside the office front door. Drove all over trying to find our site. There had been a rainstorm before our arrival and all the roads were very muddy. There was no pavement or gravel, just mud, dirt, and grass. Our back in site was quite short and I didn’t think our 33 ft class c would fit. Plus I was worried about getting stuck in the saturated grass and mud. There were trucks and fifth wheels parked everywhere leaving me with no room to maneuver. It seems to be a popular campground for people with big trucks pulling fifth wheels and trailers but we didn’t see any motor homes anywhere. Not surprising given the state of the sites and roads. I’m sure it’s much nicer when everything is dry but the thought of my daughter and dog walking through all that mud and trying to keep the camper clean did not make the thought of staying there any more appealing. We decided to book a spot in a different campground nearby that we knew had gravel pads. Also, Campendium has this campground listed as full hook ups. It does not. Electric only. Canceled our booking but I don’t know if we will get any refund or not. I definitely feel misled by the website not mentioning that the sites are grass. In fact we got an email after booking which stated we were to park on the gravel only. 😕 Hard to do if there’s no gravel. I just wanted to make others aware of what to expect at this campground since there’s only one other review which is very positive.

We have been coming to Sportsman Centennial for quite a few years now. Whether you stay in the electrical or the primitive sections they are well-kept and extremely well cared for. The people who run this camp could not be nicer and easier to get along with. They even went way out of their way one time to help my daughter when she had locked the doors to her car with her daughter inside. There are rules that all campgrounds have to follow as there are all different kinds of people who come to have a great time in the outdoors.Even when people are not being compliant the caretakers are extremely kind and considerate. People forget that they still need to be considerate of ALL those camping not just their group! People who run this campground have bent over backwards in the years we have gone there to make sure the camping experience at Centennial is the best. I could not give any better review for the treatment and the fun that we have had there. Some of our best memories of camping have been spent there with friends and family!! I’d give it a 20 plus stars if I could!!!
Happy Gma would stay here again

“Worst camping experience I have had”

If I could have put no stars I would have. This campground is managed by some very rude and disrespectful people. We were harassed and blamed for things we did not do. We were treated very poorly. The quiet hours are so early that it is still daylight out when you have to shut generators and music off. If you are being even a little bit loud you will have the managers at your site that minute and they will talk down to you and belittle you. I would never recommend this campground to anyone. Camping is suppose to be fun around a fire, swimming, and hanging out with family and friends, but this campground, it's management, and it's rules are completely discourteous and unaccommodating to the anyone that wants to camp there.
