This is a very nice campground with level sites which are a bit close but not uncomfortably. There is ample room for walking around and for dog walking. We were in a spot that was long enough for the rig and truck but there was also parking in front of our rig for overflow tows. There was a nice couple who owned it with a small but nice store. The CG is closest to Notre Dame U so popular. This also gives it a great location for sightseeing and getting into downtown Niles which has a few cute spots to visit. There are a lot of trees which made it impossible to use Starlink. It made working there difficult so we used the coffee house, 2nd and Main.

Several ponds you can fish from, and even a swimming pond with a small beach. Never went into the bath house so I can’t speak to that. Nice playground for the kids to play on. There’s also a nature/dog walk that runs the exterior or the property. For the most part it was pretty quiet. No complaints there. They’re very particular about having vehicles on the grass. Had a staff member that was on a golf cart say something as we were unloading our vehicle when we got there. I understand the idea but I feel he could’ve been a little nicer with his approach. The only other “complaint” I could possibly have is how close the sites are to each other. You’re basically right on top of your neighbors, but since most fold that go camping are super friendly anyway, it was easy to make friends with them!! All in all I’d say this place was pretty good. I think I would stay here again.

The lake areas and dog walk had a nice view. We fished and caught stuff right away! The bathrooms and showers could really use some renovations. Would stay again for a night or two!

Wow, this place had changed. There’s a significant percentage of long term workers who are make noise partying when they come home in the evening. Be careful in the site you select, because you’ll get to watch them.

Big playground if you have younger kids. A swimming lake and a couple of fishing lakes. Some nature trails. There is RV storage at the front of section of the RV site area that is an eye sore. We stayed here because it was close to Notre Dame and we wanted to visit the campus. We were up charged $10 a day for our 15 year old and $5 a day for our 13 year old. Irritating and bad business practice in my opinion. Definitely not worth $59 a night. As for the identity crisis...seems like this place doesn’t know if it wants to be an RV park or a trailer park. We would look for another place if in the area again.

Had big clean bathhouse, propane to refill your tanks, firewood, rec hall, and lots of trees on perfectly manicured grounds. Could hear the highway in the distance, but it was not a problem. Campground was very quiet. (We stayed on a Tuesday night.) Would definitely stay again.

Adorable, very well cared for RV Park / campground. The owners have been loving on this place for a very long time, and it shows.
The sites are grass and a mix of pull-throughs and back-ins. 30/50A, H2O & sewer + a fire ring & picnic table at each. ~20' between you and your neighbor.
WiFi here is surprisingly good. Verizon / AT&T are usable, but 1 bar each.
Outdoor (no electric) RV storage is available.
This little park offers plenty of self-guided, well kept activities including a volleyball net/balls, basketball/balls, an enclosed picnic facility, a wood working shop, a playground, a short walking trail, a fishing pond, and a mud-bottomed swimming pond with built in games.
Owners and management are awesomely friendly and flexible - and they still run the place 'old style' with a wooden board on the wall to mark who's in what spot and for how long. The grounds staff (Just Jim and Ron) are friendly and keep a good eye on the place.
There is a dump station for those who can't stay but need to unload their poop - $15 for non-guests.
If you stay more than a week, the grass under and near to your rig will get a bit shaggy. They mow once a week, but they won't move your lawn chairs or tables for precision mowing results. We have been enjoying watching the mowing crew ram picnic tables with the mowers rather than move them. It's funny. We actually appreciate staff not getting too close to our rig with their mowing devices - better than grass scraps or errant rocks hitting our house on wheels.
The park is pretty quiet save for kids playing basketball or shouting on the playground. Occasionally a neighbor will practice their gun shooting skills. 'Merica. Some road noise if you listen for it.
We ended up here because we're idiots and don't make reservations more than a week in advance and Spaulding Lake had spaces open over Memorial Day. We extended our stay to get through the Fourth of July.
Running/walking/biking areas around the park aren't optimal, but the roads have a decent grass shoulder and traffic is slow. It's a bit of a drive to anything of interest, but the grocery store and post office are only 6/10minutes down the road in Niles.
We are really enjoying our stay here - relaxed and friendly - and WiFi solid enough to get plenty of work done without using our own data.

Our biggest surprise with this private campground was the large amount of land they have surrounding the campsites. Most campgrounds put RVs on almost the whole property, with maybe a small plot of land reserved for a playground or dog run. Spaulding Lake had huge grassy fields, a small forest with trails winding through it, a swimming lake and a fishing lake, and a pretty creek flowing all around the campground. The entire place is surrounded by tall, thick trees, providing great privacy (the campground is in a residential neighborhood). We found plenty of places to walk our dog, and he went for a few swims in the creek, but there's no enclosed off-leash dog area. As others have mentioned, half the sites are in a wooded section with shade and mature trees, the rest (including ours) are in a mostly open grassy field. Our site was grass instead of gravel, but we had no problems, even with two full days of rain. Site size was above average, utilities worked well, and even the WiFi worked well most of the time. Verizon and AT&T both had strong signal. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated being able to receive mail and packages while staying here. This was a great place for us to stay while visiting Elkhart and surrounding areas. There's a BBQ restaurant about 1/4 mile from the campground. We got take-out once and it was quite good (but a bit pricey). We would return here.
