Great overnight stay as traveling north. Arrived after hours but all paperwork waiting for us, clear directions to our site. Very clean office/meeting area. Didn’t use bathrooms, but pool area very well maintained/clean and had people swimming when we arrived. Looked inviting. Site was gravel, nice pull-thru, and trees trimmed well for our fifth wheel. No noise from highway and we are about 1/2 mile from interstate. Would definitely stay again. Very friendly staff too!
Semi-Retired would stay here again

Showers were disgusting. Bathrooms smelt. None of the amenities, except laundry, were open. Wifi didn’t work.

The park looks shabby. Shower stalls are brown from the water. Would not recommend doing laundry here. Pool area is okay but campers pretty much disregard any signage. People even brought their pets into the pool area. Smoking, vaping and alcohol were a problem. That’s with a half empty campground. Stay away!

Seems to be a work in progress, there was a picnic table set up on pavers, and a fire pit. Our utility post appeared relatively new. The pool looked OK, but hadn't been closed for the season. The office / lobby are dated. The laundry room had 2 of 4 washers working. Site was of decent size and park is far enough from highway , so not much road noise. There happens to be a place for food in front of campground called Shakers, putting that into gps will get you there. Also we were able to get diesel for our motorhome at the station near the interchange.
IMO, Bill would stay here again

Grass was cut, pool was clean. Men’s bathroom was down, everyone shared the women’s. Place isn’t terrible but definitely needs more work. Fairly quiet, it served its purpose.

They were working on pool and filled it but needs lots of filtering. Playground consists of swings. Laundry and showers clean.
There is a pond but filled with lillypads so fishing probably won’t work. All in all, okay place to spend a night or two.
Petersburg has a very nice battlefield to visit as well as confederate and union cemeteries.
WiFi good. Note: our GPS took us into the wrong area and were lost in a old, old trailer park.
Sue n Dave would stay here again

First, let me say that the clerk at the desk here (Not the owner) was very kind and very helpful. But that's where the good experience ended. Their website gives the impression of a place you'd love to run naked through with flowers in your hair while romantic or motivational music played in the background. However, the reality was quite different. Granted, My experience was in Late February of 2019. There were no leaves on the hundreds of dangerously overgrown (tall) and leaning trees that blanketed every site. It would truly be a nail-biting, sleepless experience should a severe wind event occur over your tent or RV. We arrived in a van with the intention of tent camping with my wife and son. We were just passing through and didnt want to risk staying in a bedbug hotel. Aside from a cluster of full timers near the lake and office, the camp literally appeared to be abandoned. It was of course February. I requested that I pick my own tent site on the hill since the entire area (maybe 90 sites) were empty. The clerk agreed. I paid for 3 days and rode up to look for a site that hopefully had few trees overhanging it. There were none to find, honestly. But I settled for the least dangerous in my mind, and parked. Looking around, I noticed endless electric, water and sewer hookups that appeared to not have been maintained in years. Loose and rusty electric wires, sewer drains with no caps and leaning or bent water pipes - everywhere. But before I could pitch my tent, the clerk rode up the hill in a car and advised me that her boss, the owner now refused to allow us to camp where we wanted and that we must tent-camp down by the office surrounded by the cluster of full timers - who were all in RVS or Trailers. We had no interest in pitching a tent in front of an audience of full timers 3 days. We simply wanted a little privacy as we were the only tent campers there. Yet, the boss who had not seen us and only informed the clerk by phone, refused our access after the clerk had informed us it was fine to camp anywhere we wanted. Finally, all I could think was, How nit-picky does someone have to be in the dead cold of February, in an all but empty campground, to decline $80 for 3 nights in a place that had clearly seen better days. But I was nice. I didnt make a scene or get angry. I was actually relieved to leave, and the kind clerk refunded our money. P.S. there was no noise, so I'm not sure what 5 stars means below
