Good place. Small store in the office. Close to amenities and shopping. Friendliness: Some office staff are more friendly than others. Sites: Our site was quite small and the sewer was elevated about 9 inches. So, try and consider another site, for that reason, especially if you have an Airstream (lower black tank spout). Sites: Our site was quite small and the sewer was elevated about 9 inches. So, try and consider another site, for that reason, especially if you have an Airstream (lower black tank spout).
Location: Really nice small(ish) town 10 minutes away. Lots of food options. Dog park for large and small dogs. River to kayak. Lots of shops. Gas is within 5 minutes of the park entrance.
Wifi: General internet searching and light work. We had trouble working with our needs and on vpn sometimes. We always rely on our hotspots anyway.
Laundry: Really old facilities so the washer did an okay job. The dryers needed some extra time for towels.

This park is close to town but was not noisy where I stayed. The staff were super friendly and the park was well maintained though it is older and showing it's age in a few places. I was able to use the laundry, dump station and shower during my stay and was delighted to have everything work well enough to wash away a weeks worth of hi... more
This park is close to town but was not noisy where I stayed. The staff were super friendly and the park was well maintained though it is older and showing it's age in a few places. I was able to use the laundry, dump station and shower during my stay and was delighted to have everything work well enough to wash away a weeks worth of high altitude boondocking and get my tanks back to where they needed to be before heading out to four mile rec area for more NFS camping. The local grocery store in town "City Market" was crowded and a little small but had everything I needed including fresh dino kale. The gas stations in town were competitively priced and I noticed a few food trucks around indicating an Austin sort of vibe. This park would be easy to get a large rig in an out of and has great mobile phone coverage.

We stayed two nights unexpectedly and the staff was very warm and welcoming. We were in a basic back in electric site which ran $36 a night, $39 with tax. We stayed two nights unexpectedly and the staff was very warm and welcoming. We were in a basic back in electric site which ran $36 a night, $39 with tax. Not a bad price for the area - in Salida prices at a park like this were $50-80. Very friendly guests, quiet and well-maintained park. We were one site away from the highway so it was loud, but we had the best views. Speaking of, views of the mountains were gorgeous and I can imagine would be even better when said mountains are snowy (hence the name). Wi-Fi was good but I got kicked off every once in awhile. Overall pleasant experience and I would come again.

We found this campground on our way to check out a different campground farther north on Highway 24. It was love at first sight. We loved it so much that this is our 3rd summer workcamping here. It's a great "base camp" for us to take day trips to explore this beautiful state.
The owner does an awesome job making sure the park is well maintained and upgrades done each year.
Highly recommend this park.
