This CG, not too far from Boise area, was made farther by the final 15 miles of roadway being not well groomed, washboard-rutted gravel. After speaking with other campers, they said the road was in unusually poor condition this season and in prior years they'd never had problems. It took 1 hour to traverse those final 15 miles of switchback gravel roads. Note: Paved road ends right at Tie Creek CG. Once at Silver Creek CG, though, it is a very pretty place. Beautiful forested area with a creek that runs alongside. We walked the entirety of the CG and the roadway alongside the CG and didn't find any hiking trails. Lots of campers were there with there 4x4 toys, so we assume there were some sort of OHV trails nearby. CG roads were paved and each site had picnic table, fire ring and place to set up a tent or shelter. All very nice sites. Water spigots and vault toilets are dotted throughout the park. There are no hookups at individual sites and no dump station or garbage waste cans provided in the CG. You need to pack out. Lots of little critters to enjoy watching play. Squirrels, chipmunks and a variety of birds. We'd stay here again if we knew the gravel road was in better condition. Also, since it's boondocking, be prepared for generators running...*chilly morning, crackling campfire, steaming hot coffee, mountain-pine air*...and the rumbling of your neighbor's generator running for an hour 10 feet from your (almost) serene camping experience.
