Just 4 spots in a small parking lot that doesn’t have a lot of room for maneuvering. If other RV’s are there, it could be hard for larger rigs to turn around through the parking lot. The road that leads up hill to the parking lot will become steep right after this spot so you might have to back out instead if no room. Otherwise, the lo... more

“Great Spot, Free, Tucked Away ”

Overall Rating

Quiet, level lot, tucked away from traffic. 4-5 RV spots. If car camping or in a van, further up the hill at the viewpoint has 10-12 shaded parking spots too.

“Closed When The Town Has Fireworks”

Overall Rating

We were set up on a nice flat paved spot and the police asked us to move due to town fireworks being shot off in that area. They said we could return after 10 or allowed us to stay in the Superior trail hiking lot for the evening due to the circumstances.

Overall Rating

A parking lot up a road overlooking the city of Silver Bay with, just down the hill, a free dump station and fresh water available (donations accepted). We were the only ones there and felt safe and secure. Walk up the road farther to see and learn about the taconite processing plant that fronts Lake Superior.

“Free, Flat & Quiet”

Silver Bay RV & Truck parking I came through on a Saturday in the summer without a rez anywhere. I swung by earlier in the day to see the overlook and figured this would work for the night.
