While we did have to change sites (reserved late on busy weekend), there was plenty of opportunity for enjoying trees and realigning with nature. Sites were a little tight even in the tent area but all in all - great break from the valley for sure!

The sites are tight on a tight road going through the place. Frankly, if I were one of the hosts, my first mission would be to trim back those trees so rigs can get in and out without incurring scratches, and I did tell them exactly that. I'm old so I can get away with stuff like that.
I have a 33' motorhome and actually did trim back some of the trees. Tree branches resting on your rig is how you get ants and so on so it's really not a bad idea to have a limbing saw, or something of the such, because experience has taught me that you will most likely be using again. The nights are quiet and you do have the lake right there so I really see no sense in paying the extra money for lake view or whatever it is. Just walk across the street and you're there. Maybe if there were four or five of you and you all wanted to stay together....
The hosts are friendly and doing what they can to bring the place up to standard.
While the sites are dry camping, the dump station and fresh water are within feet of each other and convenient as are the dumpster so that's really not a issue. If you're looking for a short layover then this is pretty good. I started out with only a one night plan but stayer for four since I have a brother in Show Low.
And I do stop in when I'm boondocking in the nearby national forest.

I paid the extra for camping "by the lake" that's a farce, you can SEE the lake but to get to it it's down a rocky, dangerous embankment. And, that red clay looks real bad if it rains, you can see old ruts. Across the street the h/u area is small and all stuck together, Only if you're in desperate need of an overnighter, the dry area across the street seems OK.
I paid $100 for 3 days (30/day plus fee) and left after one day.

This is a heavy treed area, would say not big rig friendly (40 or plus) Make it a point to be clear with the office on your size. There is some tight areas in the park for turning.
Some toilet were pit and there were some flush, needing a little more TLC.
There were limited spots with elect and didn't see any water hook ups on site. There were areas to get water.

I had a lot of work on so I needed full time electricity as opposed to running my geni. While in the area I found this nice little campground. Be aware, it is right next to town and there are neighborhoods next to the campground. It is across the road from scenic Lake Show Low.
I arrived without a reservation in early April. The kind couple that run the site were able to find me a space for 3 nights which was perfect for my needs. The campground offers a mix of tent camping, trailer spaces with and without electric hookups. 30 Amp and 120. There is also a dump station . None of the sites have sewage connections nor water. Drinking water and trash dumpsters are available in a couple of spots.
Now I was in site 32 which is by the road but it is not at all a busy street so I slept fine. The people living in the houses behind my site were also quiet as was the entire campground.
I think the price of $30/night was a little high but then again I am closely related to Scrooge McDuck.

Found this by accident after we pulled into Show Low for an RV repair. Everything was closed for Easter weekend so we had to wait foe things to reopen on Monday. Beautiful, peaceful and perfect for fishing, kayaks and paddle boards!

This was our first time out with our new trailer and our first time even owning a trailer. We managed to get four days in the middle of the Arizona summer on a weeks notice so we were thrilled. We stayed in site 33 and were all in all very happy with the site. This particular site is right on the road so you will hear a noise traffic but it is really not bad at all. The advantage is it’s a very short walk to the lake.
This actual site does have a 30 amp hook up. However it does not have its own individual water. There is a water fill station very close to site 33. As complete newbies this was a challenge for us but I am sure experienced RVers would have no problem.
There is a large picnic table and a fire pit at the site. The campground was quiet and clean.

Our site had power, but be aware only 7 sites have power and only 30 amp. Very close to lake. Next to zero cell coverage (Verizon) but our satellite dish worked fine.

We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet campground on Show Low Lake. It is conveniently located just off highway 260 and within walking distance to several amenities including Walmart. There is no water or electricity at our site but they do have several locations around the campground to fill up on fresh water. The dump station was clean and easy to access. Most sites have plenty of shade and privacy. The map that they provide can be a little confusing but Phil the campground host was more than happy to point us in the right direction.
