Three loops to camp in here, although the last few sites are lined up right next to the road. I would imagine those would be hardly used at all. All sites are gravel and fairly level (though some are more level than others). Each site offers ample space, a picnic table and fire ring. There are pit toilets (very clean) throughout the campground. There is no dump station, but there is a spigot with potable water down by the shelter hose on the lake front. There is also a fishing pier and boat ramp here. Near the boat ramp there were 5 row boats which looked like they were free to use, but there was only one set of oars. Interior roads are gravel and any sized rig could be accommodated here, though a larger rig would have fewer sites to choose from. Getting here is a snap as the campground sits about one mile from the narrow and winding MO 156. Beware though -- the small road leading here, while paved, is pretty rough. I had a couple of bars of Verizon and was able to text, call and surf with no problems. I even streamed a baseball radio broadcast.
Probably one of the nicest free camps one would find. I wish I would have had more than one night to stay here. I could see a week here being very tough to beat.

I think this is a hidden gem. Free camping. 49-50 sites. Lake access. Fishing.. but no swimming. Vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and many spots are mostly level and gravelled. This place is great. Free camping for up to 14 days. It’s may and all the campgrounds are opening around the country and this place is empty. It’s got 3 different areas to park your rv. No hookups just straight boondocking. Seen 1 person drive by the past few days and that’s it. So for the time of year it being empty is awesome. So if ... more

My son and I stayed here on a mini road trip. We were the only ones camping that night. Had a few locals fishing throughout the day, but by dark it was all ours. Hope to stop again someday. Highly recommend!
They do not list an option for US Cellular service, but I had 3 bars or LTE.
