We pulled a 28ft 5th wheel to the CG. Recommend RVers stay in loop C as it’s the easiest sites to back into. Be prepared to listen to generators throughout the day.

This was a first come first serve site/camp ground, so we were lucky some family dropped their trailer off the night before to dibs the site going into the weekend. We were on a group site so it cost us $60 a night for 3 RVs and three cars. Extra cars were an extra $7 a night.
The trails had a lot of side by sides and dirt bikes, mixed with hikers and bikers. Because of the nature of the trails, everyone was going somewhat slow and were respectful and others.
Vault toilets and freshwater on site along with bundles of wood for $6 a bundle. No dump or electrical so bring a generator. (Quiet hours are 10pm-8am).
We had our rzr, son's little dirt bike, and four wheeler along with mountain bikes and road bikes and it was a blast for an extended weekend!

We arrived at the campground on a Sunday evening and had many options to pick from. The camp hosts welcomed us and where a blast to talk too. Camp spots and nice large and level parking. Beautiful fire rings, camp squares and very well maintained grounds. Had a 2 bars of T-Mobile 5G as well.

It was a good location for a day trip to Craters of the Moon National Monument, and Pocatello is home to some good local breweries. It was quiet the two nights we were here, and the dark sky afforded for some beautiful stars while out by the campfire. No hook-ups here, and campground has vault toilets, but they were clean. There is water available throughout the campground.
Our site was a nice pull-thru, and was fairly private. The campground is in a beautiful forest setting. Definitely will stay here again when traveling through the area.

I'm giving this a full 5 stars mainly due to the fact that we snagged the best spot in the campground, site 7. Our site is a pull through (not generally my favorite type of sites), but has the most privacy of all the sites in the campground with woods on either side and a longish pull through area so you are not right off any of the campground roads. We also have our own water spicket at the site, along with a nice fire pit, a standing BBQ grill and a picnic table. Note, our site was a non-reservable site and we were fortunate enough to get it by arriving late morning on a Friday.
Other benefits to this campground are the proximity to biking/hiking trails, good cell reception, and friendly hosts. We had a nice conversation with one of the hosts (I think his name was Jim) about mountain biking in the area.
The negatives are the number of ATVers that use these same trails, the bushes are a bit overgrown and tend to encroach on the roads (potential for scratching vehicles). If you need to access town, it's about a 25 minute drive, but not bad. We are self contained, so do not use the campground bathrooms, but I suspect the bathrooms are simply a vault toilet.
Some mentioned bugs, but we had no issues. There is a large group area that was being utilized by a large youth group. They were somewhat loud (drum circle or something like that), but they were done at a reasonable time. And, frankly, the drumming was not unpleasant.

This spot is beautiful right under the shadow of scout mountain. The hike to scout mt was great too. But it was not quiet. There were college kids partying very loudly until 11pm. The camp host was running a generator until 10pm. And in the morning someone was running a weed wackier for hours. Guess your results may vary.

Recommended by a local at a restaurant, this place is amazing. Quiet, secluded, but still near others. No issues finding a spot to sleep at 9pm on a Saturday. The conifer trees are amazing. Would definitely stay here a couple nights if we weren’t just passing thru to MT.

We stayed 2 nights (early July) at Scout Mountain Campground because we had heard that the birding (bird watching) was incredible at the campground and other nearby areas. We were not disappointed.
We took our 32-foot Class C motorhome, pulling a Ford Escape, up the winding paved hill road to the camp. There were only two pull-through spots available and these were first-come. Spot #9 was the flattest and easiest to get into and was very secluded. There were no hook-ups. The site did include an extra area with a bar-be-que, cement fire ring, and a well-built picnic table. The nearest pit toilet was a walk up the hill, and water was a camping space away. This was fine with us as we were self-contained and were able to use the water when needed. We very much liked this spot and birding in our camp included Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, Calliope Hummingbirds, a pair of nesting American Robins with two hungry chicks, warblers, and there were also many pretty butterflies.
The only downsides of the campground is that the brush and tree branches need to be trimmed away from the access roads and pull-ins/throughs. Tall motorhomes and trailers hit the branches and brush and could do damage to the paint. Also, we had spotty cell coverage.
