Arrived at 10 pm and still loud as can be with people but thats to be expected. Im not used to camping with such a bad congestion of people but it was harvest days and i didn’t know. I wish there was a shower house and flush toilets but the woman on the phone was really nice.

Enter through main entrance off HWY 23. Do not use back entrance from HWY 35, it is very steep and windy! Site 23 is 61 ft deep, very level and a large site by the playground. Great for big rig with tow. Other sites are smaller. 50 amp but no water or sewer at site. Nearby POIs include Serpent Mound, Hopewell Culture Historical Site, ... more

Nice campground, esp if your in an rv, No flush toilets, no showers, site length on website is not accurate, most sites are smaller length than listed, but many pull thru sites- clerk was able to swap us out for another site, but that counted as our one free change on your reservation. We are in a class a and the road into the park is tight and windy. Not sure if two campers could get by each other. But place is clean and very reasonable priced. They also offer public use of dump station for 10 dollars.

We camped at the Caldwell Lake campground mid-week and the park was nearly deserted. The vault toilets are thoroughly cleaned each day. A Clorox mix is used on the toilet's concrete floor. The gravel sites are level. Fire rings are provided on most of the sites. There are several pull-through sites in the center portions of the campground. Two children's play areas were being refreshed with a chipped rubber surface and smelled like it.
The nearby Stewart Lake campground is designated as a tent-only campground. Stewart Lake was drained undergoing a large construction effort.
As other reviewers have noted the nearby trails are hilly and challenging--no sense putting in a switch-back when you can go straight up a hill. The state park trails connect with the nearby Buckeye Trail.

We really enjoys this small park. The trails around the camp are challenging and it's a hilly environment. Sites were gravel and spread out. There is wifi if you sit by the office, otherwise very spotty cell service.
The little lake is cute but not a swimming lake. Lots of good fishing.

Small campground with small lake. Sites are fairly close together. Park was nearly empty so it was not a problem. No flush toilets or showers. Free wi-fi and good connectivity to Verizon.
