Looked no better than other campgrounds on Rosevelt lake so we passed and went farther north when we found there was no water hookups and price was the same.

Right next to the boat launch on Roosevelt Lake. Awesome views from the campsite and easy lake access. Spotty LTE service from Verizon, goes in and out not the best cell reception. Will definitely be back.

We were unsure which campground to stay while at Roosevelt Lake. We decided to try Schoolhouse. The campground is in a beautiful location with some water views. Reservations are needed for all odd number sites; first come for all even sites. The self automated check in would not work, so we called to reserve and pay for a site. No more reserved sites were available but we could take any even sites. The reservation contact couldn’t take payment. We did select a site although many nicer odd numbered sites remained open when supposedly they were booked. Our site was relatively close to neighboring campers. Unfortunately they ran the generators most of the day. The dump station and water is at Cholla Campground 17 miles away. The sign posted limited hours and days to access the dump station as does the website but it is open 24/7. We went to cholla campground the following morning and found a great water site. The campground is five dollars more and well worth it because of spacious sites and available portable water and dump station. Due to Covid their are no showers. Bathrooms are cleaned once a week. The signal is terrible at both campgrounds.

Cost was $20 and you have to buy a pass from a machine, which wasn't working. Talked to Camp Host and he said to try again and if it didn't work, that was ok.
Next to boat launch which was fun to see the activity. Not noisy at all.
Great spot. Would come here again. Oh amd cell service was pretty minimal. Better towards lake for AT&T but not good enough to stream well.
Enjoy!

Absolutely no noise except the coyotes and my two crying baby’s 😀
Verizon Lte works pretty well, 2 bars and 1.5mb/s without antenna and 10-20 mb/s with antenna.
There is a nice dock on the lake. Tonto national Monument is 5 miles up the road and really cool to see!
Gas and food is not close, so bring what you need.
We would stay longer if we could.

We have. 38’ Class A. The campground was quiet and well kept. Scenery was beautiful. Fishing with a boat was great for cat fish. Our stay was at the end of February.

Nice park with paved roads. The sites are gravel with picnic tables, ramada and fire pit. There are garbage and toilets but that's it. Great views but if you take the road too Young Az. ( not a rv road) which is about 5 miles from the campgrounds you will find some amazing views.

I camped on the Mesquite loop for 3 nights in March 2017. There were 10 camp sites on my loop and only 1 other camper. It was so quiet that I heard the birds wings flapping as they flew. My spot had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains on both the east and west sides which made for gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The other spots in the campground did not have a great view of the lake.
There are no hook ups. There is a bathroom with a flush toilet and sink, and a water faucet by the bathroom but you can not hook it up to your rig. There were also warning signs that the water at Schoolhouse, in a few faucets, had tested positive for lead, but it did not name which faucets. So I didn't drink any of the water. Bathrooms were cleaned daily by the campground host.
No showers at this campground, but there are free showers at Windy Hill campground. I just went over there to shower. Showers were clean and adequate. The Windy Hill campground had a lot more RV's in it. I think this was due to the fact that there were showers and cell service was a little better here. I didn't notice if they had hookups or not.
You need a Tonto pass to camp and you can pick those up at basically any business in the area. There is a gas station and small store just to the South of the campground about a mile or two.
Cell service was very sketchy. Sometimes it would work and other times it wouldn't. Sometimes I would have service bars but when I tried to make a call it said "Emergency calls only". I talked to the other camper on my loop and they were having the same problem.
I would recommend camping here. The weather was in the 70s during the day and down in the 30s at night during the month of March so take an extra blanket or plan to use the heat! The scenery was gorgeous. Definitely take time to drive down Hwy 88 toward Apache Junction, it is a beautiful drive!
