We dry camped for 5 days. Site was close to San Juan river and partially shaded. Pit toilets and potable water near by. Fire pit and table provided. Easy access to petroglyphs and Bears Ears area (Natural Bridges, Valley of the Gods, scenic drives). Sites fill quickly so try to arrive early afternoon. Cell service (AT&T) okay but had t... more
We dry camped for 5 days. Site was close to San Juan river and partially shaded. Pit toilets and potable water near by. Fire pit and table provided. Easy access to petroglyphs and Bears Ears area (Natural Bridges, Valley of the Gods, scenic drives). Sites fill quickly so try to arrive early afternoon. Cell service (AT&T) okay but had to drive up to campground entrance to catch internet. Nearby town has gas, convenient store and laundromat.
We had senior pass so paid $7.50 per night.

We were here for 2 nights in late March in loop B. Used our senior pass for 7.50/night. $15 regular per night. Vault toilets with water spigot at beginning of loop. Loop B has more sites and is more conducive for trailers and larger RVs. Try to arrive by 2pm for available spots. There are petroglyphs at both loops next to the sandstone... more

Verizon coverage was super spotty. We had an amplifier and that gelled for us. Otherwise m, it would be non existent cell svc. Would stay again.

Loved this spot. Reminded me of home, with the cottonwood trees along the river. There is some road noise, as it is between 2 highways. Not terrible, but in a tent, it is noticeable. 2023 is a flood year, so the mosquitoes are getting bad. This is a favorite spot for river floaters. Check out the petroglyph on the cliffs

It's March 19, 2023 and we are here two nights. The drive in is quite pretty, the campground is below a bluff yet a very safe distance above the river for any possible flooding purposes. The boat ramp/raft loading area is busy with rafters entering the water - the area feels private and remote yet not scary and too out there. The sites are well spaced and probably pretty full, as was the case for us. The Group B area was not reserved for 3 nights so we grabbed it for two. Spacious, clean, bathroom right adjacent to our RV. The picnic area is covered, clean, numerous tables if you have a group and a hydrant which wasn't operational during our stay. As far as wind & weather you are protected by a bluff directly adjacent to the North - we didn't feel wind or any annoying weather through the evening. The other RV's are a mixture of large bus type rigs, nice camper vans and smaller/larger travel trailers - they will all be back in except the Group lots which are easy to pull through for multiple rigs. We would stay here again. The dogs are happy here, lots of trails at the group site for potty breaks. Lots of foliage to create barriers between sites. Great stay! No cell coverage but we have Starlink & use wifi calling so we are golden.

Loop B had enough sites for large trailers (30’). Setting behind at the back of site 12 is nice under the trees. Cell reception was great! We would come again! Just watch out for the many ant hills. I guess the ants were here before us:-)

We really enjoyed camping here. The rafters tend to come in the late evening and leave early in the morning so it is easy to get a spot in the middle of the day. We really enjoyed camping here. The rafters tend to come in the late evening and leave early in the morning so it is easy to get a spot in the middle of the day. Even with the frequent turnover the place is quiet and peaceful. Be sure to see the petroglyphs. The campground did have water. The only problem is we could not find a close RV dump. We called the local RV Parks and they all said no.

Kind of a neat place to stay for a few days. Not too many sites for large rigs but we found one and got in ok. In Loop B is dedicated to sizes over 26' as not allowed in Loop A. They are all "first come- first serve"... Some are near the water and others are away. It's a wonderful place to stay, providing you get a spot. We had a great time hiking near the large rock formations looking at all the Petroglyphs! There are 2 areas that they are found. One area on the North side of Loop B and the other following a trail near the end of Loop A. We saw many groups of people launching rafts and kayaks down the San Juan River, so if in the area for sometime, maybe contact one of the services and go float the river! Or, bring your own and have a blast! You might have to look into a service that would pick you up and bring you back, unless you have two vehicles.

Just left Monument Valley and needed a place for one night on way to Mesa Verde. Easy access of Hwy 163. Quiet and scenic fall colors. Right on the San Juan River. Only about half full. Nice level sites. Enough cell service to stream shows. Good road. Best campground in this area.

Also a loading and unloading zone for the San Juan River Raftingi
Like most government sites, maintenance is needed on the brown grass, which should be mowed.
No Cell Phone - Unless you have a extended cell phone amplifier .

Nice private campsites with lots of room to wander. My dog Lucy and I spent an hour and a half never really been lost but knowing that this was fun walking through the Bosque.
