Cons: Bathrooms are fairly spaced so You have to walk in the 100• heat to get to get to the bathroom.
There are no trash cans throughout the park so you have to actually drive to dump your trash.
The heat was unbearable and it was windy making it impossible to sit outside and enjoy the view.
The Reservoir has swimmers itch throughout different areas therefore it was difficult to know where to swim and enjoy the water.
There is not much to do therefore I would recommend Quail Creek which has a small Beachfront accessible with water.
If you have dogs do not visit in the summer time as it will be very difficult to walk your dog, too hot and hot asphalt.

The campground has nice facilities but there is virtually no shade. Beware of the water! We got what’s called “swimmers’s itch” from the reservoir which is some kind of parasite that makes your whole body itch. Also, the off road vehicles are everywhere and there is no shortage of right-wing political flags hanging from every campsite.

I wouldn't try to kayak or sup in the reservoir as it's busy with motorboats and jet skis. It can be noisy with ATVs and motorboats so I only gave it three stars on noise. It wasn't an issue for me but some might find the noise bothersome.
I had three bars of AT&T LTE but it was enough to stream without jitters.

This is a big riders location and bikes, quads, side by sides can be heard at all hours. The park closes at night and you have to be in before that time or you will be locked out. Overall we had a nice time and would go back again. This is a cool location when the other areas are still covered in snow. The lake is pretty and has good fishing. About 45 minutes away from Zion and about the same for snow canyon. Both worth checking out. Att had good phone service.

Great campsite just 15 min off the highway. We got lucky and they had a few spots available for walk-up. We stayed at spot #7 which had beautiful unobstructed views out the back. Spots are spread out and campground was quiet even though it was at capacity. Would definitely return for a future trip!

We've stayed at Sand Hollow State Park twice, once last year and once this year, though this is the first time I'm writing a review for it. You can check out my more in-depth blog posts regarding both stays below.
Both times we've stayed, we stayed in the Westside Campground. Most sites are pull-throughs, though the back-ins are very easy to get in to, and all sites here have full hookups. During our stay last year, we were in site 18, which I think is one of the best sites in the entire campground. Sites 20, 22, 23 and 26 are also nice. We stayed this year from March 16-27. We were in three different sites because we kept extending our stay due to the havoc that COVID wreaked during this time. We were unsure how long the campground would stay open and when other campgrounds/RV parks were going to close, so we kind of took things day to day. We ended up leaving for a private RV park at exactly the right time, as all of the state park campgrounds in Utah were closed to non-residents the day we left.
Anyways, the sites are big and have full hookups, a shade structure, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Firewood is for sale at the check-in area. The campground is comprised of oneway streets and the one drawback of some of the sites is that the pull-throughs on the left side of the street are situated so that when you pull in, your door opens to the street instead of your 'yard'. This area is big with OHVs, but we didn't deal with that noise too much from the Westside Campground. The restrooms are nice and clean with individual showers. The reservoir is great for SUPing, kayak, etc. Zion is about 45 minutes away.
We would definitely stay here again, though we preferred the remoteness and quietness of nearby Snow Canyon State Park more.

Back lots have great views 27 and greater. Overall a great park. Lake is beautiful. We rented a boat at the beach store for half day and spent the other half on the sandy beach. Does not feel hot if you are in and bear water. Rode Polaris UTVs on the beach and in the dunes. Great place! Definitely return but maybe not at mid summer and we are from AZ. LOL

This was our first stop for a few days before we headed over to Zion NP. There were nearly 40 of us in our group. This was our first stop for a few days before we headed over to Zion NP. There were nearly 40 of us in our group. Most of us were spread out 6 different campsites (WS 16, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22.) and some rented an AirB&B which was only a few minutes away. We were there July 12-15th. First of all, it was unbearably hot. The moment we pulled into our spots and stepped out of our RV's, it drained the moral of our entire group. We knew it was going to be hot, but this was bad. The town of Hurricane averages the high 90's during this time of year and this week it was 106 plus. It temps didn't get comfortable until close to midnight. Needless to say, make sure your AC's are in good working order, because you just might not shut off during your entire stay, like us.
Wind was a definite factor. You can't leave your awning out on your RV during the mid-day hours. I did open up ours in the morning when it was less windy. But the moment you start feeling that wind, roll it up. The campsites were huge, clean and level for the most part. The distance between each campsite are pretty far apart. If we were by ourselves, totally cool. But because we has such a large group, it was somewhat of a trek just to go to campsite to campsite.
The lake is awesome. Super clean and a refreshing 80 degrees. Get out onto the water first thing in the morning. The water is glass. Come 10-11am, the wind starts to kick up and your wake-boarding day is done. Out comes the tubes. It's also a walk to get to the water from the campsite. I got the closest spots to where the cliff jumping is, but it's still a good 8-10 min walk. I think if it wasn't so hot, our stay may have been much more enjoyable and the walks to the lake or other RV's wouldn't have been so daunting. Still on the fence if we would camp here again. At least not in July.
