A nice location to visit SLC. Took the light rail just outside of the park and it goes directly into downtown. Very convenient!

top of your neighbors hookups. Not great. We didn't spend a whole lot of time hanging around the campground so none of this really mattered to us. Easy in/out, our site was long enough to pull our 40 foot RV in with our toad without unhooking it and left enough space to park it. Great park, great location, would not hesitate to stay here again.

The campsites are fairly close together and offer no privacy. This is typical for nearly all KOAs and private campgrounds so if this turns you off, keep on driving.
However, this CG offers excellent access to all of the city and even has a light rail station right in front of the campground. While this location is in an urban location and close to rail lines, the airport and highway, these sounds all blended into a typical urban white noise. The normal flight path of jets at the airport do not take them anywhere near the campground, the highway is far enough that you don’t hear it and the trains are far enough away to be in the background.
The CG is located in a light industrial section of town but we felt quite safe.
Most of the sites are sufficiently angled that despite being on top of each other, you do have some sense of separation. There are trees throughout the site which would be very welcome on hot sunny days. However, those same trees can block satellite TV, but there are excellent over the air channels and the campground has decent cable TV so you shljldn’t miss your satellite.
This park has AMAZING free WiFi. We clocked speeds of 60MB down and 30 to 40 up on the CG WiFi network! Even when th CG was full, we got close to those speeds. Also, Verizon had blazing fast speeds. Did not try AT&T or any other carrier, but being in an urban area these should have been fine as well.
The staff are friendly, all the utilities worked properly. Most of the sites are pull through and can accommodate the largest rigs.

Has a nice pool and hot tub and laundry. Don't have kids? Might want to avoid the hot tub, the kids had it pretty well overrun.
We paid extra for an end site, a "deluxe patio site", which was pretty sweet. We had upgraded lawn furniture, no neighbors, and a wall of shrubs to have our own little private oasis.
The trail on the Jordan river is pretty depressing. Homeless, drug users, graffiti. Not the place to take the kids. I rode the trail all the way south, and as soon as it gets out of SLC proper and into Provo it becomes wonderful.

If you're looking for an RV park that's relatively easy to access from the highway, with clean sites and walking trails right out your door, the Salt Lake City KOA is a good choice. If budget matters or if you're seeking to dodge the crowds, though, you might want to look outside the city for another option.
The facilities are clean and decent, and the grass between the sites is the kind that makes you want to be five again so you can roll around in it. The walking trail goes from the back of the park to the Jordan River and state fairgrounds. The staff were helpful and never bothersome, although the campsite adheres to the usual strict KOA rules.

There's not many places to stay near downtown Salt Lake City, and the KOA was great! We enjoyed exploring Temple Square, City Creek Shopping Center, and swimming in the pool.
The park was clean, efficient, safe, and the staff we interacted with were great!

We planned to spend a month in SLC visiting family. I called and asked about a monthly rate. This is 2 campgrounds together, VIP and KOA. The VIP offers monthly rates and their website states they almost always have availability. I called and the woman said they could get us in for a month. We pulled in with our rig the next day and we’re told they haven’t had monthly spots for years but we could stay at a nightly rate until a spot opened up. Get real! It’s also right next to an oil refinery and a not so great part of town. Don’t waste your time.
