We are new to RV camping. Friends invited us to join them at Sage Flat Campground. We have a 25' trailer and theirs is 28' and we both had ample space. The campground was beautiful and clean, and the campground host was wonderful--very friendly with lots of good information. The campground is only first come/first served. We arrived on a Monday in August and there was plenty of room. We stayed 3 nights and would have stayed a 4th except that there was not enough sunlight through the tall trees to fully activate the solar panel on the roof of our trailer. If we visit this campground again, we will want to bring a generator. Also important to note is that the road up from the little town of Big Pine is very steep and a bit scary for anyone afraid of heights. Coming down, the road was a challenge even though we have a Ford F-150 and drove very slowly in first gear. We had to pull over and stop for 30 minutes about halfway down because our brakes were overheating. We would only visit this campground again if we had a stronger, higher-performing truck. This campground is recommended for RV campers who are prepared to bring along the right equipment--a generator and a high-performance truck.

“Beautiful, but no cell signal.”

We didn't actually end up staying here. We were hoping to find a campsite at higher elevation for the cooler temps, but there is no cell signal to be found here, even with a booster. Beautiful though, with big trees and a beautiful creek.
The campsites are paved and have fire rings & such, but most are pretty short (like truck camper or small trailer sized). There are a few sites that could accommodate a larger rig (say, 30') but the campground road is narrow and twisty, with trees close to the pavement in many areas. If you have a larger rig, scout the site *and the whole route you'd need to take* before bringing a larger rig in here.
Jeneric Ramblings would stay here again
