It is big rig friendly, but I would suggest you do as we did and park by the kiosk and then walk up the trail to pick your site. We would not have wanted to take our large 40 foot fifth wheel much higher on the road that we did. Although the spot we chose was perfect.

Stayed for a week - the roads are a bit bumpy - but worth the trek - incredible views. Very quiet. Peaceful.
Plenty of areas to walk and hike. Very clean area.

Plenty of room when we were here and we tow with an HDT and had no problem fining a spot big enough to handle us (recommend scouting before pulling down one of the roads in, the farther west we went the more accessible for our size rig) and get turned around when we needed to leave. We had plenty of cell/data from Verizon & AT&T. Overall great stop between Q and Phoenix and close enough to Buckeye and Goodyear so close enough to anything you might need.

This is the spot road 8209 not 8210 off court house road, 8209 is more level and less rocks. In October the flies were bad, but the sunset was worth all the fly swatting. Temperatures 90 during the day high 60's at dawn. We will come again.
Cell coverage was OK for ATT&T.

This place was horrible on so many levels. The road is very rocky & huge ruts in some areas. We we're glad in the morning when we took a walk that we stopped towards the front as the road got much worse. The biggest problem we had we're the flies. Thousands of them swarming our RV. We thought maybe someone had dumped their black tank or something was dead. When we went to investigate around & under the RV we were greeted by a tarantula. Nope, nothing dead- just a huge fly problem. It's a week later & we're still killing flies from there. As others have said the road noise isn't too bad & it is very spacious. I wouldn't recommend staying more than a night for a break to something better.

The mountains here are pretty, and the volcanic soil is fertile enough for beautiful green grass and flowers in the spring. Plenty of opportunity for hiking or mountain biking if you are into outdoor recreation. This site seems to be increasingly popular over the past couple of years, but is still not nearly as crowded as many other desert locations.
I-10 is visible in the distance, but is not close enough to be noisy. There is some occasional road noise from the county highway, but it is not too bad most of the time.
There are several dirt roads that run into the camping area from the paved road. Some are in pretty decent condition with periodic pull-offs for nearly any size rig; others are frightful in anything other than a high-clearance vehicle with good tires. You probably want to look for some other larger rigs if you are in a large vehicle as they are probably along one of the better roads.

The first obvious entrance had a few RVs and didn't want to haul the 36 foot Class A in there without knowing spot availability so continued on a bit and found several other dirt roads with plenty of disbursed space available.
There is no shade at all. Not a tree in view. Good for the solar but I can image the hotter months would be a challenge here. The sky at night is second to none. Several nights the stars and moonlight would illuminate the Saddle Mountain ridgeline and create a spectacular show.
I gave everything five stars but the site quality. The only reason I gave the site quality three stars is that there is a lot of brush and plant life hanging over the dirt roads. Not soft fluffy plants... no these are hard and scratchy. Meaning they can and will leave marks on your bay/storage doors if not careful.
Over all, however, this was an amazing little stop off the interstate and I would happily stay there again.

This was my first visit to Saddle Mountain BLM and the information in all of the great Campendium reviews was very helpful so I'll try not to repeat that information. As someone mentioned, going in from Tonopah is the best route, it's paved all the way to the camping area. I checked out most of the dirt roads into the area and the one right at milepost 13 is the smoothest. I actually went in on trail 8210 (next trail to the east) based on other reviews and the red ribbons at the entrance. That trail is pretty smooth for the first .5 mile then gets pretty rocky, but I found a nice spot at about .8 miles. Further in gets real rough with baseball size and larger rocks.
I arrived late Friday afternoon (May 11) and had the entire area to myself. The highlight was all of the Saguros were in full bloom. Overall, a beautiful desert location.

Our 33’ MH (with toad) made it through the rough road threading between large wild plant life acquiring a few desert pinstripes and we found the perfect site with fire pit, views for miles and little to no passer-by traffic. Huge site. Could have been used for 2-3 smaller rigs.
Excellent cell service.
Quiet dark nights.
