“Decent choices for level sites in RV loop”

The above rate reflects the 50% Senior Pass discount. If you have an RV - especially if it is over 15-20 feet - the T loop is the only choice to make here. The T Loop begins at the bottom of a hill, climbs up to the top and then descends back down the hill. The sites at the bottom and top are those which are level enough to be used. I think the very best sites in the Loop are T-11 and T-13 at the top of the hill. Beware however of the crumbling, buckling and bowing upward spots on each pad though as they could present an impossible levelling situation. The site I chose - a pull through - needed leveling on the front and back wheels on the outer site of the pull through.
Very easy access to this camp off the Parkway but the interior roads are in a degree of disrepair and a bit narrow as well. Each site had a reasonably close seating area and the bath houses were serviceable. Very spotty Verizon signal here. My tablet had a weak to decent signal a good deal of the time, while my phone rarely could get any type of signal. And they are both Verizon!
All in all, it is a typical Blue Ridge Parkway campground - older, no hookups, fresh water and dump station available, and most sites are small and way out of level. Certainly pleasant enough to spend a night or two if you can snag one of the more level sites.

If it's summertime I would definitely recommend going to the other loops, those spots are more spread out. Definitely not a space for big rigs. I have a 16ft with a 4Runner and just fit. There are a few spots that might fit a bigger rig, but not many. The camp host was super friendly and they had music around the fire on Saturday night. Verizon service was fine without my booster, but I would have needed it for video calls.

Have stayed here several times in a tent and our camper, sites are nice with several pull-thu. Nice trail across the roadway with cows (u can hear them in the evening). No water or power at the sites but they do have water and a dump station. They also have bathrooms available.

You literally dodge cow pies and cows as you walk up this trail and that ain't no Bull 🙂. About halfway up stop in the pasture and turn around for a stunning 180 degree view of the surrounding valleys and mountains-WOW. The view from the top of Rocky Knob is no slouch either. The 700' elevation change isn't for everyone but if you start your hike from the Saddle Overlook it's not so bad. Low bars on AT&T but pretty steady during my time there.

We lucked out that the campground was pretty empty when we arrived, so we were able to settle into a grouping of fairly level sites on B-Loop sized nicely for vans and small Class-Cs. Anything larger, and you're pretty much needing to stay up on T-Loop.
Pleasant stay, and we enjoyed the hike through the cows to Rocky Knob.
On AT&T, we were able to get about 50 Mbps down and 7 Mbps up with no fiddling - plenty fast enough for just about anything we desired. We didn't bother trying other options here.

Most RV sites are not very level, but there are a few that work for medium-to-small rigs. Many tent sites, each with a dedicated small driveway. All sites have a fire ring and picnic table. Limited hiking in the immediate area, but a very relaxing outing in a lush pine forest.

Himself started tent camping here in the late 70s. He considers this a great tenting campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway and just an "ok" RV campground.
Great hiking nearby from campground.
Fast and easy check-in with friendly staff.

It is a wonder, quite place just to disappear. Also a wonderful place to star gaze on a clear night. You just need to drive up to the overlook just up the Parkway. You will truly be amazed.

When we drove in, we thought the campground was much smaller than it actually is. Look at a campground map before you go--there are actually four loops to choose from, but they petal off one another in a way that isn't intuitive.
We didn't find any trails or much recreation within walking distance of the campground. Rather, it appears to be a good place to go disappear into the woods for a while. The town of Floyd, within driving distance, was a fun place to visit, with the Floyd Country Store offering delicious eats and (though we missed it) live bluegrass.
Bathrooms were clean. AT&T data worked with a directional antenna and booster. We'll skip this campground next time and maybe hit an RV park closer to Floyd, if such a thing exists.

I stayed here for one night in Oct of 2014. The CG was still open. There are no hook ups and a small restroom with no showers is centrally located. A host was on site. the park could use some work but it was a good camp for the night.
No cell service on my Verizon.
