Not into rockhounding but I’ve overnighted here 5-6 times. A shame you have to reserve now. Clean restrooms, roomy spots, great views and $14 for water/electric? Beats the heck out of the freeway close parking lots in Deming.

The sites are fairly level and groomed daily. The bathroom and showers were very clean. My Verizon got 3 bars on Lte. Its 20 minutes to Demming or an hour from Las Cruces. Its a friendly place and you can legally collect geodes, thunder eggs, and a bunch of other gemstones. Super cool hikes right off the campsite.

Wow! We stayed here on our way out of NM, we wish we would’ve stayed longer. We were in primitive site 3 which is the highest non-electric site in the campground and the views did not disappoint. The sunsets were even better. The only con is that this site is the furthest from the bathrooms so it’s a trek. The bathrooms were spotless with showers. The hikes were family friendly with our 4 year old and dog. The host was friendly (so we’re the other campers). Gates get locked at night. Very quiet campground. This campground also was very 420 friendly with the smells permeating up the mountain even on our hike at 1,000 feet. All-around good vibes here.

If you use Starlink, be careful with site selection as the easternmost sites may be blocked by the mountain. We were in 27 and just cleared the mountain for a northern view. 27 appears to be the longest pull through site and we were very pleased with the site even though I had to find the crown of the pull through to achieve level.

-We stayed 1 night at site 16, which is the highest, most elevated site closest to the side of the mountain.
-Site is sized well and easily fits 2 vehicles and a trailer all side by side.
-Site has a covered picnic table and dedicated site garbage can.
-Quite a lot of bug activity when we stayed (large ants, wasps, and flies).
-Drive paths and sites are pea gravel— so very slippery! Had a challenging time backing into the site with a 2 wheel drive truck. Incline at site 16 did not help the matter. Could be messy and challenging after a rainfall.
-Drive in to campground contains a lot of low dipping roads, which may cause an issue with flooded roadways after a rain.
-Got 5G internet with T-Mobile at the campsite.
-Public restroom area was clean and well stocked (toilet paper and hand washing soap accessible in the restroom).
-Well maintained sites and general campsite areas.
-20 minute drive from campsite to Deming shopping area (Dollar General, AutoZone, etc.).

Lover's Leap trail delivers astounding 100 mile views, but is 1000 feet of elevation in a mile, kind of worth it just to drive 10 minutes to the trail head, where there's a picnic area. There's a nearby cell tower, which delivered surprisingly consistent internet for what feels like a very remote location.

We came to try to catch the end of the spring bloom and there is absolutely none due to lack of rainfall. That said, we still had a great time. Climbed up the face of the Little Floridas to the microwave towers and to Lover's Leap in Spring Canyon. We were wowed by the camp host welcome and raked gravel around the picnic tables and shade awnings. The restrooms were uber-clean. Push button lavatory faucets not so great but push button showers provided ample warm water duration for good showers. We liked site 04 due to spacing from other sites . You'll never level in the pull through portion of the site but there is more than enough space for a big rig on the south side of picnic table. We guess the proximity to I10 contributes to many more 1 night stands than multiple night stays here. We thought it was very quiet.
