This is a beautiful and well maintained park! Easy access right off US 20 and surrounded by the Santiam River. Entire park is heavily wooded and secluded feeling, but not overgrown or unsafe feeling in any way. Town of Sweet Home is just 8 min drive west. Loop roads are wide and paved so easily accomidate big rigs. Highway noise can be heard at times near the front of the park, but nothing excessive or bothersome and not heavily traveled in the evening. All spots are wooded and paved with their own concrete pad, picnic table, and fire pit. Our spot had electric and water hookups (sewer hook up not available in any spot). Bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained, but we did not need to use them. All the spaces seemed very nice, but I would say our spot C7 was one of the best in the park. It's a pull through and isn't directly next to any other spot. It looks out on forest and feels very private. Park is very dark and quiet at night. Dump station is very clean, only draw back being you have to pay $5 to use it. Ice and firewood were available for purchase at host station.

Linn County, OR has an unusually large number of county campgrounds. But all are not equal. Late April 2016, we camped at River Bend County Park for 2 nights and explored the vineyards and covered bridges of the Willamette Valley. Probably the best county campground we've ever stayed in. Well laid out and quite private, tucked in the woods and walking distance to the Santiam River. Large asphalt slabs with tables and fire rings, full and partial hook-up, clean flush toilets and showers. Seems to be very popular with local families on the weekends. Our loop was empty on Thur and although many sites were reserved for the weekend, we still had no neighbors when we left Sat AM. Might have been due to the weather. Beautiful walking trails along the river. Looks like a great area for swimming and fly fishing when the season opens in late May. Firewood available. Walk to the toilet and showers was a bit far.
