One of our favorite Missouri locations. Free camping at one if Missouri’s many conservation Areas throughout the state. We enjoy this one because it is a little more out of the way. It has a beautiful creek that runs around the campground and when it is up you can tube from the day use area around to the backside of the campground. The creek is clean and even has a really nice beach at one end of the campground.
The campground itself is nice. 15 sites. None level. But it’s free so we make it work. Fire rings and picnic tables at most sites. Some spots good for solar others fully shaded so something for everyone. We are in a TC but a small trailer or RV wouldn’t have any issues.
A somewhat clean pit toilet. But it’s a pit toilet! So ya.
We will camp here any time we are in the area. The grounds are clean and well maintained. And good for star gazing.

The camping here is beautiful and very secluded, almost to an eerie level. We enjoyed the creek and exploring around the area but it's worth noting that this campground is a decent drive from just about anywhere. The campground is accessed via a gravel road that is well maintained and smooth but a bit narrow in some areas. Crossing the bridge to the campsites was a bit of a nail biter in our 39' toy hauler and dually but a smaller rig can handle it without a problem. The sites were not level, we were uncomfortable with how high our front jacks had to be to get level see we just dealt with a little slope. I think a shorter rig can handle it fine. We enjoyed our time and the area was beautiful but I don't recommend super long rigs go here just because of how sloped the sites are

Just visited during the day in February for a bit but Would like to camp here in the future. Good gravel road in. Very nice, quiet, peaceful place. Several Long-drop toilets. No electricity.
It looks like they are making a few improvements.

This is a terrific place; only downside? No potable water. Was open during lockdown; few campers until Memorial Weekend approached, then started to get busy. We really enjoyed it here. At high flood times, might not be able to get to camping area, but there is a picnic area with excellent access and you could stay there. Long-drop toilets. Designated camping areas, but also large open areas right next to the water.
